I spent May 5th-11 at POFQ and was there solo except for one evening and a day with friends from home. Just thought I would let you know where I ate.
I didn't end up doing too many sit down dinners-I intended to, but I found things to eat when I felt like it, and ended up cancelling alot of my PS.
I arrived at about noon on the 5th-and after checking in just went to the food court and had a steak sandwich and sat by the pool-it was ok,but was made with mozzarella, and I would have preferred american or cheddar.
PS for dinner at Cape May-one of my favorites-I was seated in a small booth, by the kitchen door, but it's a nice quiet place- I ate way too many clams, I love the way they make them. I also asked for a "few" cold shrimp-and she brought me a bowl that had about 50 in it- so yes-I ate too many shrimp too... I also tried the beef-good with fresh horseradish, bar-b-q meatballs, salad, and the best key lime tart I ever tasted.
Thursday- PS at Fresh(Dolphin) for breakfast-I really enjoyed this,I had scrambled eggs with ham, made to order, pecan sticky buns, bacon, some fruit, a glass of oj and coffee
Lunch-PORS food court- This was one of the best surprises!! Thye have the best tuna salad sandwich ever-very fresh,on a dark bread-white tuna with celery, onion, lettuce and tomato.I had this twice more- a great cool meal on a hot day.
Dinner- Bongo's Cuban Cafe-met with friends and took the boat to DTD and they didn't want to make a PS anywhere ahead of time-so this was kind of a fluke. But the food was really good, we tried a real assortment of things-the service was great,we sat outside, which was really nice.
Friday- breakfast in food court- a breakfast platter with eggs, bacons and hashbrowns and a small biscuit-eggs were not overdone-and tasty.
Picked up friends at their timeshare around 11 to head to Epcot-parked at BC and walked through IG-headed to Canada-while they went to watch the movie- I went and got 2 cups of cheddar cheese soup and 2 orders of pretzel bread-great deal $8.00 including tax-and we all shared.
We snacked most of the day-including nacho's in Mexico, popcorn, and I can't remember what else..lol
Saturday-skipped breakfast-had another tuna sandwich for lunch then headed to the MK for dinner at Crystal Palace-wasn't to please with my seating for this-I was wedged between two families with little kids(I love kids btw) and the one mother kept letting her daughter(about 2)crawl all over me-it was tough to eat.I had shrimp, prime rib, salad, and I'm not a big bread eater-but they had the most awesome chipoltle butter-I could have licked it off the plate-lol-it wasn't really spicy-just very tasty.
Sunday-the only meal this day was the Mother's Day Brunch at Epcot at 1pm.The atmosphere was lovely-the tables were not too close together, and the food was very good. They had typical breakfast fare-and many lunch entrees.I brought home a menu if anyone is interested-I can post it.
Other surprises- I went to BB and TL one day each and they have a little stand that sells hot mini cinnamon donuts-they reminded me of cider donuts-very yummy-and $4.00 for a bag of a dozen.Don't miss these!!
Food court POFQ- I had a kids pasta dinner $3.99-that was plenty for me one night-came with a garlic bread stick. Also had a kids hot dog meal at BB-$3.99 again plenty.
Well,I guess thats it-I hope this helps someone out.If you have any other questions,I'd be happy to help.
