Partial Savannah View at AKL

Hi all! First time poster here and trying to get used to all the abbreviations and flood of information, so please forgive me if a similar post to this has been made before or if I'm posting in the wrong area!

My fiance and I are honeymooning in Disney in April. When I booked our stay, I was thinking of splitting between a savannah view at AKL and a stay at a moderate due to cost. However, the agent (cast member?!) I spoke to at Disney told me that he knew from personal experience that you could get a partial savannah view from staying in a standard room, we just wouldn't have the full 180 degree view of the savannah guaranteed. He put a note on our account saying that we were honeymooners who wanted a partial savannah view and that we wanted to have a great time on our trip, and said there was a fairly good chance we would get a good view.

So I'm just wondering, have any of you had a similar experience like this? Anyone particularly had this happened at AKL? I'm not going to have a Disney Princess meltdown if my savannah view dreams come true, but I know my fiance would love to see some animals from our room

I would trust the CM's notes. There's a good chance you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get to AKL. And if you do get a parking lot view, simply ask very politely if there are any savannah rooms available. But like I said, put trust in the CM's notes. They're pretty good about making honeymooners feel special. Not guaranteed of course.

We stayed at the Contemporary in December for our honeymoon. We booked a garden wing room. We asked if there were any tower rooms available (willing to pay if needed) and the CM called somebody to ask if there were rooms available. He even asked if we wanted bay lake or magic kingdom view. So we got a MK view room. The key is being polite and excited.

We were at AKL last month and got lucky with the "Partial Savanna" or "People Pen" view for 10 nights! We saw all kinds of animals right below our balcony!

It was such an awesome experience! Having that note on file will hopefully increase your chances of getting one! I called and requested the "Partial Savanna" view and chose upper floor, kudu trail as my options on online check in.

That sounds great! Thank you! I didn't check anything off on our online check in just because I was afraid it would interfere with the notes he had on our account. I'm not really concerned about high floor or anything like that. I just don't want to be staring at the parking lot. The CM said the accounts with notes are processed first in the resort though, so I'm crossing my fingers that we will get a room with a view!
