I am currently booked April 15-20. I am hoping parks will be open by then and the coronavirus threat will be less, but every day that seems less and less likely. If we do reschedule for the summer, when room rates are less expensive, will I be refunded the price difference? My final payment is due tomorrow and I don't want to cancel yet even though I know April is a real longshot. Anyone with experience doing this?

At the time you cancel your current res you will get a refund. When you book the new dates you will be charged whatever those rooms are going for.
So the short answer is yes.

If you rebook on the phone, you might want to take a look at it online later, and/or specifically ask for promo rates. I rebooked Thursday afternoon (before the announcement was made and chaos ensued.) I added a night when rebooking and paid more $ for the new dates. I had originally had a preferred room at All Star Movies (because that was what was available when I booked.) They kept me with a preferred room at All Star Music in the rebooking (honestly didn't even occur to me to tell them I was fine with a regular room, I was just tired of being on hold and wanted it done), and didn't apply the "Fun and Sun" rate. I can't even imagine what CMs are dealing with right now, so I'm honestly not even upset about this. I wouldn't have even realized any of this if I wasn't looking to add a day of park tickets online later. I downgraded online to a regular room online with the Fun and Sun rate, and added the other day of park tickets I wanted, and I'm getting pretty much the same amount of $ back, that I paid for over the phone.

So basically I'm going to see a charge from Disney go through sometime this week, but then should see it come right back.

When I called Disney the phone message said payment due dates have been extended so maybe that applies to you? Idk how to check.

My payment was still due yesterday so I went ahead and paid it. I think we are facing an 8 week shutdown of all non essential businesses. Once it is officially announced that Disney is extending its closure, I will change everything online. I think we will add the dining plan with the money we will save switching from April to June. Hoping the parks will be reopen by the end of June!
