Partial Hook-up Sites and Gray Water

Partial Hookup Sites and Gray Water

  • We do not have gray water to dispose.

  • We put our drain hose in the bushes.

  • Our hose goes to a tank/bucket then we pour it in the bushes.

  • Our hose goes to a tank/bucket then we pour it in the laundry basin.

  • Our hose goes to a tank/bucket then we pour it in the toilet at the comfort station.

  • Our hose goes to a tank/bucket then we pour it in the bathroom sink at the comfort station.

  • Our hose goes to a tank/bucket then we find an empty dump station to pour it.

  • Our hose goes to a tank which we transport home for disposal.

  • None of the above. Here’s what we do: (specify below)

FWIW, our gray water can get pretty gross and I would never let it just run on the ground. The tank often gets a cheesy smell, probably due to some milk going down there and stewing for a few days. You'd think 5 people's worth of toothpaste plus soap from handwashing would take care of that, but nooooooo!

I'm glad you pointed this out. An accumulation of food particles can get pretty nasty. Maybe those few that use the bushes are just washing their hands and not dishes. If not, I'd hate to be the camper using their site after them...shoo-wee!

That's what I meant when I said just rinsing, we use paper plates, drinks in bottles, cans, etc..so we are just washing our hands, brushing our teeth or giving something a quick rinse (with no food on it).

We use a tank to collect our water and was told by the front desk to dump it in the first empty full hook up site we see. I do wish they would put a drain like the full hook up sites have at the comfort stations in the partial hook up loops. When we go for our longer trips (week or more) I just pay extra for a full hook up site.

LOL, that's an air vent like your car has where the gas goes in and that's probably a leaf or something. I doubt anybody would take a pic with dung in it lol. Camper poo doesn't look like that anyway because it get's broken down by the chemicals. How do I know? Because like many of you I've had and seen accidents with sewer hoses but that's a whole another thread.

Well, it's my photo...... You can see the original on my FW web page, link below.

It's actually not an air vent, but a second drain hole. It was originally designed as a sink with two drain holes, one for the RV connection and a second one so you could still use the sink - as a sink.

Looking back, I should have taken the leaf out, but I kind of like it now....

You have a great site! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the info. Glad you kept the leaf, it makes a good conversation piece.

No matter what type of camper somebody has, I always refer them to Tim's site because of the wealth of knowledge he has compiled. He definately has things figured out.
