PART TWO *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

My Souvenir list includes:

Magnet (not sure if just 1 or if they have park specific magnets)
The shirt from Germany that says "I know a little German" and has a picture of Dopey :rotfl:
A christmas ornament
Perfume from Italy or France (or elsewhere)
A christmas themed shirt if I don't pre-order one

I'm not a big souvenir person, generally. I collect magnets from places rather than amassing lots of knick knacks. I already feel my willpower crumbling for Disney though.

When I was a teenager I collected a plush toy for each visit. I had Pooh, Tigger, and Big Al! (seriously...Big Al! He's so cool)

Happy Friday!!

Does anyone know if the stock photos on photopass+ include holiday photos? I'm debating (with myself) about regular vs plus vs skipping it (though prob won't skip or i won't be i any photos!). Right now I'm leaning towards plus - I've never bought the stock photos, we have 2 character meals , and ride everything that offers the photos. Plus we're going to MVMCP. Some trips we take tons of PP pics. I guess I'm just trying to figure out how many we'll do this trip since it's our first Christmas-season trip and we have sooo many things to see/do. Hmmmm....

We usually bring magnets back for our neighbors, I don't know how it turned into the thing to do but whenever either of us go away we always bring each other magnets home. lol

Hello everyone! Happy Friday. Anyone have good plans for the weekend. We have lots of outdoor plans that I'm hoping the weather cooperates for. Our local youth football team has a hayride this weekend and tomorrow we are supposed to head to the local orchard for their fall fest and to pick pumpkins. And Sunday I have a baby shower to go to. I think that's it.

Our souvenir list...

A scrapbook
Something from MVMCP (prob a shirt) for me
Baby's first Christmas ornament for new niece
Whatever DD chooses to spend her $$ on :-)
Something for oldest niece from WS
Maybe Disney Doll princess dresses for middle nieces' AG dolls (depends on what I order them from AG)
DMom & DDad are looking for jewelry for the nieces and always like to pick up some stuff while shopping at DTD. We'll all get something for our homes

All this pick a pearl talk earlier had me on eBay checking out the carriages. So my question is, do you put the pearl in yourself or will they put it in a pre-bought cage?

Sounds like fun!

DD has tennis practice today, a tennis lesson & dance tomorrow, and a birthday party on Sunday. DS is taking the SATs tomorrow. DH & I are planning to get some work done in the yard, starting our Halloween/fall decorations. We're thinking work on the house/yard all day Saturday and relax all day Sunday (no specific plan yet, depends on whether the weather cooperates or it rains again!). Not very exciting but we have fun stuff coming up the next few weekends and need to do the chores while we can ;) Plus I enjoy decorating for Halloween and working on the yard

I don't think I told you guys about our Around the World in a Box ... I'm excited about this!

I am going to a craft store to buy each of the family an unfinished box approx 12x6x6". Print out old luggage stickers of each country in the World Showcase (remember how people used to stick those on their suitcase to show where they'd been?) straps & handle so that it looks like a little suitcase.

Then the task is, in each country we have to find an interesting item less than $5 (the cheaper and more interesting the better) that screams of that country. We cant discuss with each other what we've bought.

At the end of the day, we will all show each other what we got as we put the items in their suitcase :)

I thought it would be a cool thing for my DD to do and fun for the rest of the family. We didn't pay that much attention to each each shop last time and I thought this would be a good way to get to know a bit more about the countries.

You will have to put it in/on yourself. They only do it for store bought holders. The carriage is easy to open and close, so I have read.

This is an AWESOME idea!! LOVE IT! Might have to steal this idea when DD is older. :thumbsup2

The Trip is PAID OFF!

Well at least the DVC rental. I would still like to tuck just a few more dollars away for food/souvenirs, but that is mostly all paid off too! But I have 65 days to do all that!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Here's hoping that FP+ will be running by then! :wizard:

Can you cancel the party? I just might if its possible to get a refund. I read the fine print before purchasing and got scared off, since you have to pay when you book then it has a 24 hour cancellation policy. I read that as 24 hours from when one makes the booking ... or is it 24 hours before the party its nonrefundable? I'm still tinkering with the idea for the 10th ... or the 3rd ...

I'll join the never ridden the WDW monorails group ... looking forward to it this trip, but still having trouble wrapping my brain around the whole idea of "its transportation, not an attraction" like at DLR.

ses1230 we are birthday buddies! Yay for being born the day after Pearl Harbor ...

All the tours and dining events can be cancelled 24 or 48 hours before the event. Only the ticketed events (MNSSHP, MVMCP) are generally non-refundable.

That is a cool idea. I bet you have a bunch of people asking where they can buy the boxes. I was thinking about getting candy from each country. Maybe I should change it to just "something" in each country. WS is a place that I definitely want to spend more time. It always looks so neat in other people's pictures, but I feel like we just ride the boats in Mexico and Norway and then just walk through the rest.

I don't know but I can check for you at some point today as I have the CD :)

As we're talking about souveniers, my list goes something like this

Mug - always have to have a mug for my coffee
Jewelry - I always look at jewelry so am bound to pick up something
Handbags - I want to check those out
Pins - I love pins, although I wouldn't call myself a collector (even though I have over 200 :rolleyes1)
T-shirts - definitely have to get at least one
Collector Dolls - I will look. I might buy. I might not.
And any other shiney stuff that catches my eye.

My DH is a hat freak - last time he bought 4 hats and this time he already has a list of hats he needs .... yep, apparently he needs them :teeth:

As a scrapbooker my souvenirs are the photos. :) on one trip I bought a Minnie ear baseball cap but that's really it.

Exactly so I thought this was a good way to make sure we actually go 'in' each country :)

My mom and I both collect magnets too. I got a cute Disney one last year, but I hadn't thought about getting one from each park. Hmmm....Something to look for.

They did? Not for me

Now they have .... huh, maybe I typed something wrong :confused3

Thank you *mwah*

Glad it worked for you!!!

I've never done the Dessert Party either but we are doing it this trip....the trip that will show the world that Kathy can indeed carry an extra 20 pounds on her skinny ankles. :rotfl2:

The walking counteracts all the calories, right??? :goodvibes

I bought the Disney Princess Christmas lights while I was at Target today, DD likes Christmas lights in her room year-round, so I thought she would love these! My only complaint is that they are battery powered. I guess I will appreciate that if we ever lose power!
I also found a Cinderella pumpkin decorating kit. This will be perfect for our Cinderella movie night activity, this Saturday! We are going to the pumpkin patch that day, so decorating our pumpkins will be our activity. I bought Disney stencils for DH and I.

I need to get to Target. I decided to not decorate our room, but maybe just some lights. Or they can go on the tree at home.

Love the pumpkin decorating idea!! Have fun!

Oooh exciting day tomorrow - Cardinals @ Braves Wildcard game (Go Braves!) AND a trip to Walmart to buy some Trendy Tops :rotfl2:

 and I have new episodes of Survivor & Ghost Hunters on DVR

and I'm getting my hot pink cross-over bag for Disney

AND its Friday

Ha! Tomorrow just gets better and better :rotfl:

And now it's today!!! I will watch the game and probably root for your Braves (but really dont care because my Reds play tomorrow). I also have Survivor on DVR to watch. What kind of bag are you getting? I dont think we have seen pics yet. I think I am going to stick with the one I used last year or the Small World one I bought but dont really like.

DS always does a Kidcot passport and he plays KP (now Phineas and Ferb). That gets him exploring and we usually browse and shop while he's playing. And one year he did a report on Morocco for school.

Did you know Morocco has a guided tour? We want to do that this time.
