PART TWO *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Darn darn darn......I had just decided yesterday that I WASN'T going to book the Dessert Party and what did I do the second I saw they were available for December???? Yep, booked December 12th for 2. I was a little late to the party because I didn't log in until a few minutes ago. I hope our little measly table for 2 isn't way back in the corner ;) Now, how am I going to be hungry at 7pm for dessert when our BOG reservation is at 4:45? Ugh......maybe we should eat light at BOG? Sure, light French food, isn't that an oxymoron? :confused3

Ha! Another one caves to the peer pressure. Lol. Isnt that the day you have LC and BOG within a couple hours of each other? Is Wishes at 8 that night?

I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about the dessert party. Back when I was first planning this trip (in Jan), I was all convinced I was going to book it. I started watching the thread, knowing that it probably wouldn't be till Oct when Dec became available. It all seemed SOOOO far away back then. Now to think, we are only 2 months or so out! wow.

I caved into peer pressure when y'all started talking about MVMCP. It was one or the other this trip. I will certainly do an dessert party in the future, especially if you all say it's worth it!

Is my schedule even possible?
BBB for DD @ 5PM
LIGHTING OF CASTLE 6:15
ADR CRT @ 7:05
Wishes Party @ 9
????

The later in the day the more BBB tends to run late. That part is iffy. Everything else should be fine since its all close.

Ok now I have a dilemma related to the dessert party. I booked it for monday 12/17. That is the night MK has evening EMH. So I had booked a late (for us) dinner at WCC at 6:35 so we could take a nap and relax at the resort for a while that afternoon. But now, there is no way we will be hungry for all those desserts at 9 after eating the skillet. There is a 4:50 ADR, but that will cut into rest time and make for a long night. I really booked the party more for the view than the desserts so I think I am ok with the way things are. It just annoys me that after months of planning, I have something so glaringly imperfect.

Yes. Don't ship something you need right away. On the other hand - it's a nice post-trip fun to get all your souvenirs. Probably less fun if its filled with dirty laundry though. ;)

Thanks. We might bring an empty duffle bag with us. I can pack it in the suitcase on the way down. All of us have one carry-on with us except DS10. So I might give him my Disney Christmas tote bag that I got at the Disney store in NYC and I'll take the duffle bag on. This way we don't have to pay for an extra piece of luggage coming back.

Rest, or room to eat more cupcakes for dessert, it's a cruel, cruel choice to have to make. As one over planner to another, I totally feel your pain!

Not too long ago on this thread someone was talking about Pick a Pearl in Epcot(cannot remember who). I have looked into it and think this would be really fun to do with my DD10. Can anyone tell me what it costs for the jewlery to go with the pearl and what are some of the options? TIA

I've never done it before, but I am planning on doing it (with my partner) this time. I actually bought us matching carriage pearl cages on ebay. They're pretty and came with chains.

From what I've seen, it makes more sense to get pearl cages on ebay or elsewhere than in Epcot, since there's quite a markup. I know I saw a pretty simple ring setting in someone else's TR, but I can't remember whose.

Boo wooooo no dessert party this year each year we try to find something new and different. This year the whole christmas experience is new but the extra is the sleigh ride at Wilderness Lodge. Kate (DD) and I loved the dessert party but Keith (DS) and Jeff would rather spend the time on rides.

Um......:rotfl2: Yes. Why yes it is. :rotfl2: I was actually able to move LC to 1:30pm from the original 2:25 time slot so I ought to be GOOD and hungry by 4:45 for BOG, don't ya think? :scared1:

:scared1: I can't help but wonder if we should split the TS meals for lunch and dinner.....or maybe just dinner. I'm not sure I want to share my filet with mushroom risotto. Or maybe we'll just get appetizers at BOG and save a table service? Or maybe I can get a BOG reservation for the day before like I originally wanted on 12-11-12, our MVMCP night. I still can't believe i was on the phone that very first moment ressies became available for BOG and I still didn't get the day I wanted. :sad2: I think I'll need to go shopping for lots of stretchy pants. :lmao:

And yes, Wishes is at 8pm that night, 12/12/12

Well....I had a rough two weeks...totaled my car and had to get a new one...but...84 days til I'm in Disney with my mom and sister!!!!

I did it last year with DD. To pick the pearl is eaither 14.99 or 19.99 - can't remember which. It was cute, the CMs made a big deal over her, she really enjoyed it. They taught her how to bow and count down in Japanese while they were opening the oyster. The oyster DD picked had twins!
