Has anyone eaten at Grand Floridian Cafe? DH want to eat lunch at GF before MVMCP but I've never eaten there. Thoughts?

We went there in 2011 for dinner. Grand Floridian burger very tasty, I wasn't overly impressed with the food. I didn't care for the atmosphere- however I was also with little kids and that could have added to it.

Just noticed that TTDP ADRs are open for November! Almost Decembers turn!! Can't wait :cool1:...

Yay! We are next. :cool1: I cant believe they opened at 6 pm on a Sunday night. Gonna have to do some serious stalking the first few days of October.

Made dinner reservations at Raglan Road, anybody eaten there? The menu looks good and the reviews I've read seem to be on the positive side.

I just talked to my partner about the new plan and she seems happy with the changes. Yay! The only thing that isn't ideal is the timing of our Be Our Guest reservation, so hopefully I'll be able to nab another time. Eek!

Jordan -- Thanks for answering that (very personal) question so candidly!

1stvisit0909 -- Wow, that's an incredible score on the ADR at Le Cellier for Xmas day! Congratulations!

Alorac -- Oooh! Sounds like it's going to be a very memorable trip! Sounds like you have some great ideas, and many more have been offered up; I can't wait to hear how it goes!

My guess is that he must have arranged something with the artist just beforehand (probably leaving his gf in a shop somewhere or excusing himself to go to the bathroom so he could go chat with the artist.) So they show up to have the sketch done. The girl has no idea, but the artist is also drawing him on one knee with a ring in a box. The artist writes "Will you marry me" on the sketch. So when he did the big reveal, she was shocked and then saw the guy get down on his knee. A friend who was with them took some shots of it all. It was so darn sweet!

Tofubeast -- That's a great proposal story, and she would have the sketch as a keepsake!

Tofubeast I love that idea. My DH did something along those lines. We were at the beach and he took me into a photo booth. We took the first of the four pictures and in the 2nd picture he held the ring up so in in the last pictures he got my reaction. We still have the picture framed 10 years later.

Mom2Cody06 -- Another fantastic proposal, love it! I think bringing Uggs is a great idea, I was just thinking about what would be a great walking shoe/boot aside from sneakers.

PopArtGal -- I'll definitely bring closed-toe shoes, like sneakers or something, but other than that I'm only planning to bring a lightweight jacket, a lot of long sleeved tees and I'll pack a scarf and gloves in case it's really chilly.

I've tried to look it up, but can't figure it out...what is TTDP please? :D

We have eaten there on two different trips. I got the Shepherd's Pie and my BF got some kind of meat kabob thing. The atmosphere is pretty fun too!

Thank you sokerfrog, we walked past there on our last trip and it looked super fun so I'm excited to eat there.

Well, my entire plan is now completely hosed. I have no idea what I'm going to do.

Disney announced the swap of morning EMH between MK and Epcot on the 4th and the 6th. That's irritating but not critical. But if you look at the calendar they also made a change to Wed, Dec 5 - MK closes at 7, Wishes is at 6 and there's no MSEP. That means there's no MSEP again that week until Saturday which is a 9.2 crowd (and the day I have the tour booked at Epcot). Seriously?!?! :headache:

If it were just us, I wouldn't be so upset but with it being my in-laws first time and my MIL's all-time favorite Disney movie is Pete's Dragon.

No one has reported yet why they changed it. I can only hope that it's a mistake because I have no idea how I can work around this one.

Wow, that's super rough. I'm sure they're going to end up changing something during the week we're there (13th-20th), but hopefully not too much. What tour do you have booked at Epcot? I had to switch my Behind the Seeds Tour and it wasn't a problem, so hopefully you'll be able to work something out for you.

Anyone have ideas for window decorations? I haven't done it in so long. No idea what to do and what to use to make it stick besides scotch tape.

You can't use scotch tape. Everything we put in our window is done with suction cup hooks.

Does anyone know if it's OK to make an ADR just to have dessert? I kinda want to try the banana chocolate torte at Citricos, but don't want a full meal there.

I know what you mean. I had us going to MK that night for MSEP an Osborne lights the next night, them closing MK at 7 totally stinks!! It could change again, I think I read the final calendar doesn't come out till mid-November or something like that. So crossing my fingers.

I'm looking for ideas too, I WW thinking of getting a small string of lights for our window or something but I just dot know for sure.

It's the Segway tour. Which reminds me - they have not yet notified me that the time on my tour has changed. (I booked before they updated it to 3 hours and changed the start time.)

But I think even without the tour, I would not want to go to MK on a 9.2 day to watch the parade. The last time we watched the MSEP it was a scheduled 6 day and ended up being closer to an 8, and we hated it. I really don't want to subject my in-laws that that kind of crush.

One possibility is leaving the schedule the way it is but pushing the parade to our off day on Wed of the following week. Our plan for that day was to see decorations at GF and WL with dinner at Artist's Point. We could do an early dinner or skip it and jump into MK just to see the parade. Crowd is very low that day. The only downside is I'm trying to keep our off days flexible. So if we didn't make it, it would get missed entirely.

I keep telling myself we don't have to see everything and we'll all be back. But I'm so worried about making it over-the-top magical for my in-laws. And this is just such a critical component to my plans for my MIL. One of the gifts I bought for her is even a keychain with the MSEP Pete's Dragon float that plays the the parade music. (OMG, it is soo cute!) But I know, as much as it seems critical I can't let that one component push me into making a bad decision and screw up the rest of the trip.

I'm not even supposed to be working on my trip today. I'm supposed to be getting other stuff done. :rolleyes2
