Our new VP of Sales has been visiting our office this week. She finally left a couple hours ago so I feel like I can Dis again!!! It's amazing how much work I got done this week. My desk is so clean. :rotfl2:

LOL! I need a VP of something to come visit my house! Then maybe it would be a bit neater. ;-)

I just looked at the pics from the first MNSSHP party. So excited to see them because I have never been at that time of year, AND because it means our party is that much closer!!!! :cool1::cool1:

We went to MNSSHP last Sept and it was amazing. I can't wait to go to MVMCP this year. I know people say the two don't compare but I dont care. They aren't supposed to he alike IMO

No idea how the food is, but we are doing San Angel Inn because it looks so neat with the pyramid and the boat going through it. Yep, we are real foodies at my house. :confused3

I think being from Texas, more specifically San Antonio - having Mexican food so readily available makes San Angel less special. Does that make sense? Dunno, I'm just kinda bummed at what was available or should I say, left over for us to pick from. But I'll just keep checking back and maybe the "better" places will open up?

It makes sense. Being from Boston, I don't go down to Disney to get clam chowder ("IT'S CHOWDAH!!! Say it frenchy!") or fried seafood. I'm there to try different international fare in the WS. And, as has been discussed at great length recently, all the sweets and treats in WDW.

PS: Bonus points to the 1st person that can identify where the "chowdah" quote comes from. :thumbsup2

One of the writers at AllEars just tweeted that Be Our Guest will be serving "real wine and beer" during dinner.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Follow up tweet says it'll be mostly French wines with some from California, and the beers will be from France and Belgium.

It looks like she is at some sort of press event, and live tweeting it.

She also posted a picture of the table setups:

EDIT #2 DisneyFoodBlog also just confirmed it:

EDIT #3 The official Disney blog just confirmed it, too (thanks to ses1230 for posting):

Isn't that contrary to the spirit of MK? I'm not a huge drinker and I don't have kids, so it doesn't really matter to me anyway, but I'm curious if this is actually going to happen.

DisneyFoodBlog also just confirmed it, citing "multiple sources".

I'm torn, too. I liked the idea of having a dry park - kind of nostalgic. But, at the same time, I like having a beer/wine with dinner when eating out for a special occasion...and BOG appears to be the most "upscale" non-signature restaurant in any of the parks.

Nostalgia is great. But I'll take the wine. ;)

I wonder if they'll serve beer in Gaston's. Or if they'll start serving elsewhere in the park.

I predict a dozen new threads tomorrow about What Would Walt Say? ;)

I bet they test it out at BOG first and see how it goes, which would be good. I kinda like not being able to drink alcohol in MK. Ha.

See the link I posted - it says it in the Disney Parks Blog. I wonder if any will be served at Gaston's. I kinda like MK the way it is, though.

I remember hearing that Walt was all about innovation and change and keeping up with people as they change/want different things.

I like that they won't be serving it in to-go containers. It'll only be consumed during TS dinner, in the restaurant. It's a nice middle ground.

I'm just a little disappointed about the alcohol part. Don't get me wrong....I love me a good glass of wine :rotfl: but is it really necessary to "get the full effect"? I'm thinking that BOG is going to be magical enough without the "buzz".

Totally agree, a nice fruity drink is great but I don't need it to enjoy a park or a meal. But regardless I am not too worried about it....it's still the magic kingdom and it will still be amazing.

That is interesting. I dont drink, but I dont care if anyone else does. I dont know if MK needs to stay as a dry park just because thats how it has always been. But at the same time, it is the most kid-oriented park so it makes sense. I agree with Terri, there will be a lot of "what would walt think" conversations. I guess it doesnt matter to me. I would not have voted for alcohol being served, but I also wont be signing a petition to get it removed.

Best Mexican food I have ever had was in San Antonio!! It was many years ago, somewhere near the Riverwalk. I agree, you should not go to San Angel. :)
