This is totally :offtopic: but I have to bring it up. Back in April my wife's car was destroyed by a hail storm and I caught it on my iPhone. I posted it on YouTube and about a week later I got an email from Mythbusters asking if they could use the footage on an upcoming show. That episode airs tonight! If you watch it, look for a red Pontiac Sunfire getting pummeled. That's my poor wife's car.:sad1:

That's awesome in a not so awesome way!! Yay for Mythbusters (one of the shows I miss from canceling cable) but that sucks about the car.

Yes..lol..we went once about 14yrs ago..so I am calling this our first trip :)

61 days for us! It's our first trip to Disney for Christmas, and we are all very excited. It's the first family trip of my new blended family - me (49), DH (52), DD (who will be turning 21 during the trip!), DS (19), DD's Fiance (24), DSS (27), DSS's GF (28), DSS (24), and "adopted" DS (19). The new part of our family has only been to Disney once and only to Epcot for a day - can you believe that? We can't wait to share Disney with them - our way!

That's right. I saw them on an 8 pk of 10 oz cans. I was excited cuz for some reason, Coke decided NOT to do Santa packs last year.

Ohhh... and BDL is a he. ;)

HAHA I am so sorry! HE meant Coke cans :)
I know, I missed them last year! Just something about buying them that makes me happy.

I'm glad you decided to go! It's going to be great fun, just pack your patience and make a plan.:goodvibes
We've been to Disney a fair amount, but not for a few years and never at the holidays. So it's pretty new for me, too.

I love Mythbusters! How cool that they asked you .... but not cool that your wifes car got slaughtered. Did you get anything for your footage??

I will be setting the DVR up right now!

I'm not sure whether my kids would get Disney out of landing in Orlando unless someone else was saying something on the plane. Only my oldest has ever been there and she was 3 at the time. Maybe though to be safe I may have to have something under the tree before we go that will let them know! :)

Every time we have flown to Orlando the flight crew has asked the kids of board if they are "going to see Mickey". This happen on both Delta and Sun Country.

Cute! Love the Toy Story shirt.
I sympathize with you about the tall thing. I never buy any clothes in stores because of it, everything is online. Even my jammies!

And I have fond memories of the Mall of America. A few years back I left my purse sitting on a bench.:scared1: Believe it or not, someone turned it in at lost & found with every single thing in it.

That is wonderful! Love stories like that.

Sorry for your wife's car. I've got my DVR set to tape it!

I once got $400 out of the ATM to pay the house-sitter and leave her money for pet food etc.

My DD then wanted a capsule out of one of those vending machines in Publix and I left my wallet on top. I realised when I got home.

I called Publix and someone had handed it in but I had already resigned myself to the fact that it was doubtful the cash was there - when I got there I cried when I found ALL CASH still there and the customer service girl pointed out the guy who handed it in, he was still doing his grocery shopping with his kids. I ran up to him and gave him the biggest hug EVER, I was blubbing everywhere and I told his kids what a wonderful man their father was. The kids thought it was funny as heck :teeth:

I don't get any money or anything but I do get my name in the credits and a DVD copy of the show. That makes it SO worth it!!! :rotfl2: Not so much.

It's a good example for the kids, though. They need to see people get credit for doing something good! Even if it's some blubbing stranger! :goodvibes:
And it's too bad we think it's exceptional when someone does something kind- it should be standard behavior. :sad2: But there are nice people everywhere- I'm very forgetful- the person in Minnesota was by no means the only person to have ever helped me out!

Exactly. I made a huge deal of it to the kids - 3 boys as I wanted them to see how a simple honest gesture made my day.

You're right, it should be standard and there are more good people than bad, its just the bad is remembered moreso.

It also works the other way around though - my DD saw a guy drop his wallet at the Georgia Aquarium .... it was packed! She grabbed the wallet, grabbed me so that we could chase after him. We eventually caught up with him and my daughter gave him the wallet ...... he just took it, turned around and carried on walking. Not a smile or a thank you!
