Thinking about downgrading will be paying off my vaca tomorrow, right now I have ddp it's a lot of food my kids are 5 and 2 picky eaters also, I got the ddp because I love character meals
Anyone think ddp is too much food??
i will have to pay out of pocket for two meals, I'm unsure!! :) need to make my mind up

For us we think DDP is too much food. We however will take advantage of TiW. What truly makes it not worth it for us is the refillable mug (we don't drink soda at all) and the desserts with the meal. Most times we get a treat after our meal bc we are too full. Also, we do like splitting meals and I am guilty of appetizers for dinner... I went and calculated the price of what we would actually eat off of Allears menus and came in much lower than the DDP...

Happy Sunday everyone :goodvibes ONLY 53 more days:cool1:

I have some free/quiet time right now so I thought I'd let you all see my Disney schedule...any ideas/comments/suggestions are appreciated!!!

12/13 - Arrival day - Trail's End/Ft. Wilderness ADR with wagon ride afterwards

I love your start off day. It sounds like so much fun.

I just want to mention that 7 weeks from right now, we'll be just about to land at MCO!!!

I just came up with another brilliant idea for our trip (thankfully this one doesn't involve my CC :rotfl:)

A little background info on my family first:

My Dh likes to sleep in while he is on vacation...nothing too extreme...usually I can have him up by 9, but that is a late start to the morning, especially at Disney!!!

My youngest DD takes after her daddy and could sleep until 10 or 11am if I let her.

My oldest DD takes after me...we are both early birds.

My youngest DD is a very nervous little girl when it comes to rides...anything too fast, too dark, too loud etc...and she says, "I am never riding that again..."

My oldest DD is much more adventurous and will try just about anything!

So, I thought how fun it would be for my oldest DD and I to wake up early a few mornings and head out to a park (with AM EMH) to spend the morning at the park, just the two of us. Either my Dh and youngest DD can meet up with us at the park or we can just meet them back at the resort.

By the way, for our last two park days (24th and 26th) I am telling my Dh far in advance that on those days we all have to be ready early to be at the park before rope drop!!!

DH and I are coming December 13-17 to celebrate our 10th anniversary! I am SO excited to have an adults only trip. We are doing the CP package and MVMCP too. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I haven't been to the World around Christmas since I was a kid!

Yay! Another anniversary!! We will be celebrating our 10th too!

Monday
Narcoosse's - 9 pm

Tuesday
Les Chefs - Noon
LC - 7:30pm

Wednesday
CRT - 10:00am
Yachtsman - 7:30pm

Thursday
Yak & Yeti - 2pm
Fulton's 8:00pm

Friday
CP- 9:55am
TTDD- 8:35pm

Saturday
Kona -9:45am
Coral Reef 9pm

Sunday
HDDR - 8:30pm

I'm thinking I may cancel Les Chefs. I'm feeling like all I'll be doing is eating.

This doesn't seem too bad but lunch ressies in the park can eat up a lot of time. And Epcot has so many good CS options. Unless you're using the sit-down reservations as a break time, and then they might make sense.

ordered a rain cover and hood for my DSLR - which means I AM taking it, and it won't rain, since I'm prepared, right? :lmao:

That happened to us last year. We rented a stroller from OSR and originally didn't get the rain cover. So I got I thinking...Sept, tropical weather, and our last trip in 2008 it rained a little each day ... So I called had them include the rain cover and it didn't rain one time while we were there. If I hadn't gotten it I just know it would of poured!

I guess my question got lost somewhere.

Does anyone know if eggnog will be sold in parks or anything special to eat or drink?

I forget where I clipped this from but I had it saved with my Disney holiday info:

For the past several years, Disney's rolled out holiday-themed cocktails to be sold around the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights in Disney's Hollywood Studios. These include a Sleigh Ride combining rum, gin, vodka, and triple sec; a Snow Ball with kahlua, Bailey's, Amaretto, and half and half; and Captain's Hot Cider, which combines hot apple cider and Captain Morgan. My choice? The Merry Margarita. Are you surprised?

Epcot's World Showcase Over in Epcot, Disney opens the Holiday Brewer's Collection in the Germany pavilion, featuring hot Gluhwein (spiced wine popular during the holidays in Germany) and German beers. Also, there are often stands set up in the World Showcase offering wine and eggnog.

I read somewhere that they were serving kid-friendly eggnog in front of the American Pavillion in Epcot. That was a while ago so I don't know if they still do that. It would be nice. Others have suggested spiced wine at Osborne lights booth, Grand Floridian had hot chestnuts and mulled cider at Christmas time, and spiced wine at Germany pavillion. :)

Yum! Thank you!

So today hubby had to work so I finished painting the backsplash in my kitchen.......and I worked on some of my "princess etc ornaments" for my tree! I bought the frame ornaments from Dollar General and printed the clipart from the internet on photo paper and reduced the size to 2"x3". This is the finished product:

Those are fantastic! What a creative idea!

We'll be doing something similar. For DH it does not count as an off-day if he can't sleep in. But DS10 and I are early risers. When we stay in hotels it's my job to get DS out of the room before he wakes everyone else. So I'm envisioning a couple early trips to MK to play SOTMK

That's part of what I'm afraid of. DBF really wants to eat at Yak & Yeti so I know we'll keep that, but seriously thinking about canceling LCdF as I don't want to lose the time in Epcot.

I'm stressing too much about this. We'll see what we see and there's always next time. Even if I only get on the attractions that I want once while we're there. At least I did them. I'm also looking forward to the shopping!!!

In 7 weeks I'll be getting my taxi to the train!

Thanks for all the advice here is what I have for now for ddp

Qs at hotel at check in
Chef Mickey dinner

Hollywood vine breakfast
Scifi
Cape may

CRT
Bog
Qs

Tusker house
Qs r crystal palace

Trex
Depart

Now if I would do plus dining
I'd probably pay for CRT now and still be saving ? I'd cut down too

Qs at hotel or if we're not hungry a snack at check in
Dinner at Chef Mickey

Qs at hotel or pay for Hollywood n vine?
Scifi- ( just for milkshakes just so my son can experience Scifi)
Cape may after fantasmic

CRT
Be our guest

Tusker house
Qs before mvmcp

Then pay again for trex cafe at depart day

I might downgrade and still think about it and whether or not to pay for CRT now or use credits,
I'm also upset I cancel chef mickey for breakfast I have been trying to get one and no luck I will be at disneg dec 13-17

This is confusing!! It's also a lot of food at ddp, I at first figure, it's perfect for my kids who don't eat a lot and get hungry at many hours of the day , but now it saves way too much ,. Anyone else doing dining plans? Ddp or plus ?

The customized plans lets you put in your own times for ADRs. I have been padding extra time for parades, Wishes, Illuminations, etc. though. There's a "break" feature that I've been using to pad those. In the past I've done the personalized plans, estimating my own times (asked on their plans and data) for attractions, and I've generally found their times to be consistent. Of course, I won't know for sure until I test them.
Oh, I agree that it's great where the program prompts one to set personalized ADRs, and the "break" feature can definitely add time, but if a person hasn't been to the parks before, they might not know that that they need to do that.

For example, the standard times they give, like 15 minutes to tour an entire country in World Showcase, 11 minutes for Rafiki's PlanetWatch or getting to Finding Nemo the Musical with 0 minutes to spare seem unrealistic to me. I would add lots of time to all of those. Also, I wouldn't intentionally show up 10 minutes late to an ADR :scared:, but that's popped up a time or two in my plan!
Thank you, my mom makes great pies people always rave about her crust so I called and got that recipe. My grandmother made the best homemade mac and chesse and I have tried to copy it and it never turns out right.
My mom has a great pie crust recipe, too. It involves beer. ;) Usually it works out great every time, and if it doesn't- I still have the beer!

Yay! :cheer2:

I'm jealous - I began getting my, what I call, Morticia streak, at about 32!
But those are super cool- like Stacey on What Not To Wear (the US version)! Also, when I was young I knew a family who had a pure white streak about an inch wide on the left side- the dad and all the kids. Streaks are unique!

And those were really lovely ornaments, ksromack.

Brief background about your upcoming trip (include dates): Nov 30th to Dec 8th. First night at AKL Jambo 1 br value with MIL, Dec 1st-8th OKW Grand Villa!! The trip includes DH, Me , my two daughters, my mom, my mother in law and fingers crossed a surpise set of visitors, my DHs sister and husband!! We havent told MIL this yet (they havent committed 100% due to work, military and school) however the anticipation of that alone is killing me, we havent seen them in 6 years due to many reasons. Biggest being for most of that time they lived in CA.

Oooh, what a great surprise! I hope it works out that they can come :-)
