This is true...except many hotels pit a "hold" on debit cards, with wildly varying ranges of the hold, and while normally it is released immediately upon check out, it can take days. So Always check hotel policy!

It actually depends on the bank when they release the hold. Used to run into this with rentals. I would try and use a CC and just use the debit card to pay at check out.

Where is everyone eating in DTD?? At first we weren't going there at all. Now we are going there on arrival day and maybe another evening if DH enjoys Disney Quest (personally, I think we can play arcade games in Ohio, but whatever makes him happy and wanting to come back). We ate at Earl of Sandwich last year and enjoyed it. Could do that again. Or we could make a lunch ADR for arrival day and eat at Earl if we go back later in the week. I see a lot of you talking about T-Rex. We have been to RFC other places, but not in WDW. Any thoughts??

When we went to WDW in October 2010 we ate dinner at Raglan Road. It was the best meal of the whole trip. The Irish dancers and live music were fantastic, it was really fun, the food was great - it it was just wonderful!

CONGRATS :cheer2:! I know the feeling of getting an ADR that you've been wanting. We just got 50's PT on Saturday which was booked solid when I tried to get it last month.

Yiippeeee! I know you wanted 50's PT! Cheered!

I have a lunch Ragland Road booked and our last day I plan on EOS. We'll try to squeeze in a WPExpress on our LaNouba day but we'll be cutting it close time-wise. How about a Ghiradelli sundae? :)

Does anyone know if I need to do anything about this:

The original credit card I used to secure the vacation package has since been compromised, cancelled, and a new card reissued.

Seems that might be a problem if they ask to see the original card used to book?

I would call them and give them the new credit card number even though it's been paid off. I had an issue once with this with another hotel and it's easier just to be proactive about it and let them know about the new card number than to potentially end up with a problem when you're down there possibly and loose Park time getting it straightened out.

Wolfgang Puck Express is a must-do for me. Their pizza is amazing. Thinking about it now is making me hungry!
I don't have any ADRs for DTD, and not really worried about getting one. TRex would be nice and I might look into one for my arrival or departure days, but probably not.

The Sundae is a must... We had quite a few of these too... ;) kids would be asleep by 7-8 and one of us would go on a sundae run!

I'm finding it's not as easy to keep track of things as it was 10 years ago. MyFitnessPal is giving me a wake up call as to how much calories I'm taking in and I've got some adjusting to do.

 That would be horrific calorific for me. Remind me never to download it!

Raglans definitely - Irish food .... well, British really, all the stuff on the menu is the food I grew up with and they do an awesome job. Its so tasty and the place has a great atmosphere.

Wolfgang Puck always gets great reviews - I haven't eaten there but I want to, not sure if we will fit it in though this trip. I'm a huge Wolfgang fan, I have a couple of his books.

Earl of Sandwich also gets great reviews if you're wanting a .... sandwich!

We are booked into TRex - the place gets good reviews and its an all-crowd pleaser type of menu. Plus, my daughter AND hubby want to build a dinosaur lol.

One place NOT to go - Gloria Estefans place ... name escapes me ... Cuban food. I know several people who have eaten there and the reviews have been either that is was just ok or totally sucked. So I wouldn't risk that one!

easyWDW had the updates to the November calendar, so that means only another month until December is done. I honestly cannot wait to cancel all of the ADRs we don't really need.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Also, did you see all the early (8am) MK openings? I don't think that's usual. No idea what's up with that.

I'm pretty sure they did that last December for a few dates, too, because of the higher crowds.

I think we will plan on WPE for lunch on arrival day. Kinda want to go with no ADRs that day in case we are running late or are just in the mood to go straight to a park instead of DTD. I think Raglan Road sounds good, but DH not so much. I really need to get to Disney with a more adventurous eater. :rotfl:

I'm still trying for an early ADR for our MK day with no luck but I'm still stalking. I did score an Askershus for Epcot.

If my in-laws bail I'll be canceling a bunch of park ADRs, including CP 8:10. Keep trying. I once got CP 8:15 5 days out. Had no idea what I'd scored until we planned the next trip.

Online check in question? Do they ask you for a cc when you do online check in? We don't have a cc just a visa debit card. My parents are giving us a cc to take with us just in case and we were going to put that note room (we don't plant to charge to it). Not sure how tat would work.

You don't have to give them a card at check-in. You just won't have charging privileges.

Bongo's Cuban Cafe. Never ate there, just think that's the name

We've eaten at:
Planet Hollywood - standard fare
House of Blues - love some of their items, like the jambalaya
Fulton's Crab House - have had a few great meals there
WPE - I haven't been, but my parents like it

Would like to try Raglan Road

But some are in early November. Can't figure out why those would be higher crowds?
