We were unfortunately part of United Airlines 757 groundings on the 15th. When they transferred our flights to American Airlines, we had to pay our baggage fees again. We spoke with United about getting a refund for what we'd already paid to them, but they said that since we paid through Magical Express and the hotel ( or whatever luggage service it is that ME uses) hey said they can't do anything about it. So who do we contact? ME? (and if so what number or email?). Also we did have travel insurance if that makes a difference.

Thanks for any help! We were supposed to be home Wednesday but didn't get in until yesterday after all this stuff withthe flights happened, and I am exhausted!

It's not as though the hotel or ME keeps those luggage fees. They go to United eventually.

I would write a letter, rather than call them. Alternatively, you could just dispute the charge on your credit card when the billing cycle comes up, and let your credit card company handle it for you.

Good luck on this one. UA is probably liable, but getting it out of them may be an adventure.

Did you pay via a credit card? If so dispute the charge!

Hi! No need to write a letter. This happened to us last month where we paid our luggage fees via phone the day before we left. Were using ME but upon getting our bags tagged in the morning they had a glitch with our reservation and we had to re-pay our fees at the airport. The airline will keep your fee and ME will refund it. They were very understanding and easy to deal with but phone calls went back and forth until they had the required info from us.

Gather all your fee confirmation numbers together as well as your flight info. Also they may want your bank/credit card info which made me uncomfortable but I had initiated the phone calls so I didn't worry too much.

The number I called was 407-284-1231...the same number I called from our resort to pay the fees. Your refund might take a couple of weeks and a supervisor MAY call you back.

**Important note** I don't answer calls from numbers I'm not familiar with and a supervisor MAY call you back from "Plus Services" which is the company that handles the luggage fees. Do answer that call. LOL

Best of luck to you and so sorry you had to wade through that UA mess!
