I have a trip planned for September with me, DH, DD, Her DH, and their twins that are two years old. We are renting a minivan for the trip (wanted to use our own car seats) and with the luggage and double stroller all, will only be able to fit two of the adults and the two kids with their car seats on the way from the airport to the resort (and back when we return to the airport). During the time at WDW we will all fit because the luggage will be in the rooms.

My question is, can two of the party (two of the adults) ride the Magical Express buses to the resort while the other 4 ride in the car? And if so, is that the best way for those two to get there, or would you get a ride with one of the services (and pay for it)? I guess I have no idea how quickly we will get to our resort if we ride on the buses. Are they continually loading at the airport or is there one that leaves on the hour or something? I don't want the four in the car to get there a long time ahead of the two on the buses, but have had no trips where this service existed before.

Any advice is appreciated!

1. Yes.
2. I think so.
3. I wouldn't.
4. It generally takes 70 to 90 minutes from when you step off the plane.
5. They are dispatched as necessary.
6. There will be somewhere between 0 and 30 minutes difference.

Sure, any number of your group can ride the DME. Just be sure to make DME reservations. You will need to list everyone so that all the bags get to the appropriate rooms, but just two can ride the bus.
As far as timing goes.....figure on it taking 90 mins to get from gate to resort. The buses run continually, as needed. Those riding the bus could walk up to the bus, get on and leave within 5 mins, and their resort stop could be the first one....or, they could wait in the line to get on the bus for 20 mins, then wait on the bus and then their resort could be the last of three stops. So, a time of anywhere from 50-90 mins is reasonable. Most times run about 75 mins. Those renting a car should expect to get to the resort within an hour...so a bit faster.

Sure- we have split before- DH gets the rental car, girls and I ride ME. That way we can rent a smaller car since we don't have to worry about having one big enough for the bags.

That helps me understand how the DME works. I wasn't sure since they didn't have it the last time i was there. We are sending all the bags with the rental car though, which is the main reason two of us need to ride the buses! Thanks!

Yes, that is exactly what we are doing. Glad to hear it works out!
