Basically I am not sure if my countdown today is at 34 days, 27 days or 370 days. :scared1:
DH is having work issues and may be changing positions in December. This would be fine and it is not his decision to make but he would prefer to change. The problem is, someone in the new department has his week of vacation scheduled, so DH would have to switch to a week earlier. So my trip that has been planned for months either stays the same, or I am planning a trip in 20 days or we postpone to next November. There are pros and cons to each option. And I wont know anything for sure until next Monday. So now I am like Terri with the multiple plans. :goodvibes
Plan A----Dec 15-22. Current trip, all planned and paid for.
Plan B----Dec 8-15. Would still get to go this year, but it would not be the trip I planned. No dessert party, Le Cellier or Ohana. I would lose free dining, so we would probably do OOP and do just a couple TS. I have made a few ADRs, not sure what I will keep. This was what we had planned on doing originally until free dining was extended. Kind of excited about the flexibility of this and the ability to eat more snacky foods. Most of the plan would stay the same. Not sure if I can change my MVMCP ticket date. I know I cant get a refund. Would need to decide if I want to pay for them again. Would crunch the numbers again for a different resort, if we are paying less for tips, maybe no party and probably would not do pp+. Airfare is cheaper. Would be there at the same time as many of you, :)but would not get to meet Jordan, grrrenlyl, molitva and everyone else that is going the next week.
Plan C----Nov 16-23, 2013. It's so far away!!!!! Life is short and who knows what will happen in the next year to prevent me from going. BUT I would be able to plan a trip again. I would definitely stay deluxe. Depending on whether or not my DB gets a full time teaching job after graduation or subs next year, he might be able to go. That would be nice, but not something I could plan on at this point. I would try again for BOG and things would be less crazy than this year with all the new openings. Would miss the big MK tree, but I think most of the other decorations would be up. Need to check that schedule of the holiday events.

So I could be fine with any of the options, just frustrated to have to wait to make any necessary changes. You can chime in whether you would do plan B or C if I end up needing to make that choice.

Eeek! I'd be a nervous wreck. Lol hope it all works out for the best.

Wow, I stroll in whilst waiting for my coffee, about to say good morning and BAM! Valgoof throws that one into the mix at this time!! :rotfl:

What a dilemma! So, plan B or C? *dun dun duuuuuuuun*

Plan B would be kind of chaotic so it depends on whether you are the type to be ok with that. I'm ok with that, I thrive on chaos. I think the only draw back would be the eating situation and would miss my ADRs but again, you might be ok with that. Now, the other thing is, do you actually know if there i availability for that week as its getting close now.

Plan C is sooooooo far away!

I need to start researching where I can get coffee... Heard you can get a press pot at Boma! Yay!

And at Kona too......it's one reason why we have 2 breakfast ADRs there :) :cheer2:

I read someone's dining report where the pressed pot at Kona was included as a "beverage" on the DDP. Can anyone confirm this? I also read where one person was able to get the juice as well? True or false?

I am leaning towards chaos vs. waiting another year. The ADRs would be the issue. We did all CS last year and it was fine. I was definitely looking forward to the TS, but I think I could get over that.
Every resort I looked up showed availability for that week. Pop, POR, POFQ, CSR, WL and AKL. Some of them didnt have any standard views.

I'd do chaos too, over waiting over a year. :)

Wow. Am I the first one on this morning? Good morning! DH left at 6:40 this morning and for some reason had to wake me up to tell me, even though I knew what he was doing. So of course I couldnt go back to sleep, so laundry is running, fb has been read and now I am on here. I have a major dilemma. Trying to decide if I want to drag you guys into the decision or just tell you how it all turns out. :rotfl:

No need to ask. Consider us drug. ;)

Drag us please!!

I need a distraction. Last night I picked DH up after he ran over a deer someone had just hit.... I got to drive 45 miles on a deer infested highway at midnight after being up since 3:45am... I am exhausted. New car has a broken radiator and bottom plastic thing ripped off... Thankfully we have full coverage... And a $250 deductible....

I'm still grumpy though :(

Oh no!!!!!!!

Morning. I'm here. Need to get off this bed and go take a shower so I can get ready for church. It's supposed to be a beautiful day around here, sunny & in the 60s. I want to get out and enjoy it before are back down in the 40s mid week.

Anyone see any good reports or pictures from Friday's MVMCP? I saw a few but not enough, lol.

It's 72 and sunny here in the Lou today! I have to get to church too.....just going to finish this thread......:cool2:

So, its just dining we have to sort out - to be honest, you might be lucky and get some great ADRs so near the time, you never know! What I would do is an "open" search online and see what restaurants you get up for that time and maybe schedule your park days off that.

It might be chaotic but we are here to help and support

Lurker here, chiming in on your dilemma. I'm all for the chaos. Getting so excited for this trip and then waiting another whole year would be tough.

You could always plan another trip after this in a couple years to do the dessert party and Ohana! :) Besides, maybe you'll get lucky and ADRs will open up. Are any resorts left that have the free dining option?

Wow. Sounds like a good opportunity for Mr. Valgoof but understandably rough for the vacation.

I'll admit, Plan B sounds rather appealing. But I think some of that is the perspective of having gone through something similar. It was hard at first to think of giving up all my carefully laid plans. But at the same time, my Plan B is so much easier, a lot less stress and more go-with-the-flow. Once I got over the hump of making any changes, it was fun to plan a different approach. If you find yourself enjoying the planning freedom of B, then I think you should go for it. But if you keep looking at it and thinking about what you're losing from Plan A, then you might want to just wait until next year. I think for me, pushing the trip off for a year would be the hardest. Especially since it doesn't sound like the trip will be financially more expensive.

Re: the MVMCP tickets, I think if you call Disney chances are good that they'll let you switch the dates. No guarantees. But they're pretty good about that sort of thing.

You should definitely come stay at AKL with me. :thumbsup2

You have to do either A or B. You are right about plan C. Life is short, don't put off the trip. I like your attitude about the possibility of looking at the change like a little adventure. I do believe that things happen for a reason. Maybe you'll get into POR the week before? I can take a picture of you and my dh wearing your OHIO state shirts ;) :grouphug:

Yeah, odds are good I'll be cancelling a whole slew of ADRs on the 27th. ;)

I've never eaten at Kona but a darling CM gave me coffee once... She was our hero that day- we were so desperate!!

Thanks. I found a few that I am happy with. Just hate to give up LC and Ohana. But I will make some other ADR searcher very happy. :)

True. There is always the next trip, right? :goodvibes I havent called yet to see about the free dining. I dont think my new check in date was included though.

Yeah, I think, like with your situation, I will be fine with either plan. I just want to know which one it will be. DH would enjoy the freedom. He didnt want to have an ADR everyday.

I will definitely call once I know what I am doing.

And to add to this - use it as a way to get a trip next year?
