PART FOUR!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

From what I understand there is a "no decoration" policy. If you do decorate you can on the inside, but not doors, windows, balconies, places that are visible to other guests...
Thanks!
Yes this is the quote I received from another thread:

"Resort leaders offer holiday-decorating reminder
As Disney Parks and Resorts reflect the spirit of the season with a winter wonderland of holiday decorations, many Disney Vacation Club® Members are decorating their villas in similarly festive fashion. While Disney Vacation Club welcomes the use of safe decorations that don't damage the finishes of the villa, resort leaders are reminding Members that all decorations should be contained within the villa interiors and therefore shouldn't extend to the balcony or other exterior areas...."
I saw a thread about it in DVC-Mouscellaneous after I posted. I'm hoping I'll be safe with suction cup lights in the room on the sliding glass doors, which people over on the DVC boards posted they had success with. Though I would prefer to put them up in the living room somewhere rather than the bedrooms.

I never thought about it but do you think someone would be angry about me putting up a wreath on my resort room door at POR? I'm not using anything permanent....just an over-the-door wreath hanger. I did think about someone swiping off my door, though......

The Golden Rule.....it's a good rule! ::yes::

I have always decorated my doors and windows at the mods and the deluxe resorts and nobody has ever gotten upset nor was anything ever taken. :)

Happy Sunday!!! On week from now we'll be warming up the car and saying our goodbyes. I have a feeling this is going to be the longest week of my life!!!!

So went to Staples to get the added Disney Encyclopedia pages printed and bound... They messed it up some but ehh whatever - they have me the binding for free (I didn't even grumble) and I wanted out because the copy guy was super weird!

So off to start packing!

Sorry they messed up, but at least they did something to try to make it up to you.

Good luck packing, I'm starting that in just a few minutes! :goodvibes

There is no 'rule' that says you can't and if someone does get angry, it will be another resort guest not a CM, and if that's the case, getting angry over your wreath is their problem not yours, AND if that makes them angry then they have no business being at Disney at Christmas. We're there at the same time .... send the angry person to me ;) HA!

As for someone swiping it .... karma means as they run off, they will drop the wreath, their foot will get tangled in it, they will crash to the floor as I happen to be on the way to the food court and I will point and laugh :teeth:

Sorry. I can be ever so naughty sometimes :sad2:

EDIT: I saw on the POR board back in January pictures of wreaths & door decorations :)

I love your explanation of karma, that's what I would hope for too! :rotfl:

I bought a couple things for my door, but I got them at the Dollar Store so that if someone does swipe them I'm not out a chunk of money for it. I'm out $2 instead!

Here' s how I passed my time this afternoon:

All my Disney indoctrination on my DD (2) has worked. The first thing she said upon seeing the tree was "DONALD!!!"

Then, "Minnie" and "Mickey" as she spotted all the Disney ornaments. I sure love that kid!!

Wow - what a beautiful tree and what an intelligent DD - but you knew that, didn't you? :goodvibes

I'm so excited!!! Three days, 19 hours and 20 minutes until my flight takes off, not that I'm counting on anything :lmao:

A friend of ours already has us on a countdown based on hours. She already told us today that we leave in 96 hours :rotfl:

I just started packing this evening. We've had too much going on with Thanksgiving and a Christmas parade that I haven't been able to start until today. Plus I've been doing :laundy: to make sure we have everything washed and ready to go. That and the fact that I don't want to come home with a ton of wash to do .

I have our packing lists ready to be printed (holding off in case I've forgotten to add anything). I'm currently working on my list of things we need to take care of and set up before we leave. Which reminds me...for those going this week - make sure to call your bank(s) and let them know you are going on vacation. This will ensure that they don't think someone stole your card and went to Disney with it! Having a card locked would really put a damper on your vacation. (Hmm, that's weird. I wanted to put this in a different color and it's not giving me the option to do that :confused3. Anyone else have problems?)

Everyone is finally starting to get excited for our trip. DH has already said that my mind is already in Disney and in MK. I told him no. My mind is already in DTD since that's where we're going the first day :rotfl:

Looks great :thumbsup2! I would love to do that, but we get a real tree every year. As it is, we are not able to decorate our house until after we get back :(. I would have loved to have done it this weekend, but there was just too much to do that it made it impossible.

P'shaw.......I've been packed for a couple of weeks. :rotfl2: We don't leave for 13 days. Don't put it off..you are much less likely to leave something behind if you pack things as you see them!

I called my mom today to see if she was ok with me picking up both her suitcase and my brother's on Wednesday and bringing them over here. The airport shuttle is picking us all up at our house on Thursday at 6:15 am. So I thought this would make it easier. Turns out both of them are all packed and ready to go! Well, almost ready. The only thing they have to pack are just the items they use that morning. But for the most part, they are packed!

I plan to stop at my bank tomorrow (I need a new check register so might as well do it all at once)

I need an hours widget! Thanks for the reminder. Apparently with Chase (and I imagine the other large national banks) you can do this online, just look under Customer Care (or whatever their contact info is) for "Travel Notification Form". Mine is done now!

DH & DS will be going to get haircuts tomorrow too! DS6 keeps asking for a mow hawk and I told him not in my Disney pictures after the money I spent on Photopass!

Hi all!!

We made it back from our trip over the river and through the woods to grandma's for Thanksgiving. Well, actually we stayed with grandpa (my dad) and had thanksgiving with great-grandma. (my grandma).

Took the dogs, they had a blast in the country. our lab mix was in heaven running in the field. :D

It was nice, but back to reality for four weeks - then to Disney!! Time is going to fly - are y'all all as packed as we are between now and Christmas???!
