PART FIVE!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

I am home. We had an absolutely fantastic trip!!! :goodvibes I'll post to the group TR when I get a chance.

I just want to make sure I do this right.

I have entered my code and I have pages with all the photos where I can edit etc. It says add to cart. My options are to choose which type like prints or photo download. Do I edit then select photo download??

What did you guys do?

Those of you who will be there for Christmas day..will you be in a park or what are your plans? We were going to take the boys to see the ocean(about an hour drive) but now I am debating doing that a different day. Actually...lmao..I am debating changing everything right now..UGGHHHH. My 9yr old is most looking forward to Toy Story Mania..but we aren't scheduled to go to HS until Monday(we arrive late Friday). Saturday is not recommended by some of the touring sites. What to do..what to do. Is it normal to be thinking about changing your plans..5days before you leave????:rotfl2:

I say make him wait to ride to build the anticipation. :goodvibes. Has he ridden it before? It is one of DH's favorites. We rode it twice this morning. :thumbsup2

Umm...why yes, I have many packing woes. Apparently long pants and long sleeved shirts take up WAY more space than just shorts and t-shirts. Fitting everything in 2 carry on bags is quickly resembling a game of Tetris. I only have one third of a bag left empty and about 5 pairs of capris/jeans/cords currently in the wash that need to fit into that space. And don't even get me started on trying to fit all our liquids into 2 quart sized bags. The bags are stuffed full and I still have to figure out a way to get sissy's contact lens solution in there! And if we buy ANYTHING there is absolutely no space to pack it to bring home. I SO don't want to check a bag for a 4 night trip, but we may not have a choice...ugh.

Cant help with the liquids, but I say bring less pants and ls shirts. It is warm!! 78 here feels a lot warmer to me than it does at home. Of course at home, I am not walking around all day. But we have seen plenty of people in sweatshirts too. :confused3

I'm back!

:sad::sad::sad: It's over! :sad::sad::sad:

The only thing that made me feel not too too sad was...well look at my new ticker! ::yes::

Had a blast. My legs/feet are TIRED. Everything was magical, and most importantly, DD LOVED it!

Hey guys, don't forget to post in our Group TR! As you come back, share stories and pics over there.

If you select that, it will charge you $14.99 each. That's only if you were doing single prints or downloads.

Mine is 299 days... Set in stone yet nope... Lets say the concrete is setting? I am hoping for a 3 or 4 night food & wine trip in October, to celebrate our anniversary. My plan is to fly out Sunday AM (after MIL comes over on Saturday) and fly back Wed or Thursday evening, then it leaves us with a few days with MIL as well.

PDD is setting in... I am trying to keep it away by trying to make a photobook... I REALLY love the disney ones, the backgrounds are so great, however, the site is being a pain and I think I am just going to go to another site and spend a lot less.... I know it almost sounds practical!!!

:grouphug:

312 days here! We booked a Bounce Back for Oct 24-28.

Usually after our trip I ignore everything Disney or a while. But I want to focus on some scrapbooking stuff so I might do some Disney scrapbooking. At the very least I have to finish Project Life for the year and that I'll have two weeks of Disney.

I ordered my PhotoPass pics today. And I'm dumping all my camera cards. I had tried to get some of my pics onto Flickr during the trip but the upload failed. So I'll get those up and posted to the PTR thread.

I have a coupon for a free Shutterfly book that expires at the end of the year. I'm planning to make a holiday Disney book.

Tip - the resort PhotoPass photographers seemed to be really skilled. We got some really nice shots. The photographer at AKL was particularly great. He did shots of various family groups and a Stitch magic shot involving a present.

A lot of our plans went out the window too. DH and I loved the relaxed pace of our trip. We are a cross between turtle/commando - our last two trips were more commando based with traveling with friends of ours and we have to say just letting the Disney magic propel us along was worth it. Taking time to talk to CMs other families etc really added to our enjoyment. :D

We had TONS of tears in Disney - seeing SIL & BIL added to it :) it was great. I'm so glad you had a fun trip though. :) I'm waiting on my photopass CD and then I'm debating the trip report thing or group TR ;)

I was very happy with our plans. DH had some emergency work stuff come up and we slept in and skipped RD more than usual, but there was enough flexibility built-in that we were able to still do everything. The only thing we missed was Wishes/MSEP. We really only had one night available to do that and we were fortunate to have the FP+ preferred viewing, but we still opted not to go. DH had work that pushed our schedule off and DS was exhausted already. We didn't want to provoke a meltdown so we skipped it in favor of a leisurely dinner at Artist Point with my parents.

Overall the trip was quite slow for us. Not relaxing but not exhausting either. Just the right balance.

My poor DD has really hard to manage hair (I don't know why) it goes crazyin humidity so all her photos she has messy hair LOL. When we were in Liberty Tree Tavern there was actually a woman in the restroom with her straightening irons - we had a good laugh about the humidity she told me shes been carrying them around with her everywhere :rotfl:

When we were getting resort photos I was lamenting the frizzy hair. But then I saw this family - 5 of them all in matching red flannel pajamas with perfect hair and makeup. I'm sure it made a lovely photo but all I could think about was how much time it must've taken for them to get ready. I'm happy enough with all our photos. :)

So we loved the Xmas decor at GF... However why wouldn't you stay at GF? We don't have the desire either- even with DVC in the works....

I'm sure GF is fine at other times. But we found it to be awful with all the holiday tourists. It was so crowded and people were so rude. DSis couldn't get down to see the gingerbread because the elevators were so jammed. And she was kicked and people's kids kept running into her wheelchair ( while she was stationary). All the resorts were more crowded than usual but this was the worst.

So how do I get them 'somewhere else' - do I have to then upload them somehow?

When I entered my code, it automatically took me to this page with all my photos. I don't know where to put them now :confused3

You did the Photopass pre-order, right?

Two steps:

1) Edit as desired. I generally add some borders and click Save As Copy ( so that you have original and the one with borders).

2) when you are all done editing, go to the product page and select Photo CD. Add it to your cart. Your cart should now show the cost of the CD and a credit for that amount.

When you select the CD you have the option of getting a physical CD or digital download.

Thanks, I will try that!

We found that aswell - Mum became invisible in her ECV! Although we did get down to the GB House, it wasn't much fun for her as people kept standing in front of her.

Something else you might find interesting (if you didn't already know) the monorail broke down so we had to get to MK another way. Our only option was the bus as the boats at GF are unable to take people that are in ECVs. We waited 30mins for a bus because, apparently according to a CM, they are not geared to bus routes to MK because of the monorail so they have to radio out a bus if the monorail breaks down.

I haven't read the thead since before our vacation, so hi everyone! We had a great time on our trip! My only disappointment was that I couldn't bear the lines for Belle, so we did not see it :(

The good:
Crowds were manageable
CMs were friendly and helpful
I didn't encounter any line cutters
SotMK was fun! DD7 enjoyed it, 7 is a good age. DD4 wanted no part of it.
Bus drivers were very good with my mom and the ECV
The Candlelight Processional was a-ma-zing!
The kids club at AKV

The "just ok":
Some things need maintainance, one thing the sticks out in my mind is the ceiling of Maelstrom queue - it was filthy! (yes I know that sounds ridiculous)
A few other minor things, nothing that lessened the magic, though!

Overall, everyone had a great time, so sad to be back in the real world tomorrow!

We are planning on Nov. 30 - Dec. 7 2013, so 348 days to go!

I found the groups of rude people frustrating (sometimes it was very blatant) I know I'm not perfect, often distracted by shiny objects and sometimes in my own world too so I tried to be extra nice to the people around me. I especially tried when the masses were just not letting people move across the way etc, I know with a double stroller it was hard, So I tried to be super aware of others to hopefully make up in karma for when I was the horrible double stroller pushing person (battering ram?) I tried to say sorry as much as possible too....

And thats all you can ask. Of course, I cut across people sometimes it happens in a crowded place. I'm aware I can be a complete ditz "ooooh shiney" so I will always say sorry. I have no problem when someone bumps/cuts across etc - heck, it can be hard to navigate and I felt sorry for those with strollers - but if you don't say sorry then I'm not a happy bunny. Manners don't cost a thing, my Mum gave them to me absolutely free and I gave a complete set of manners to my daughter for free and we use them regularly ;)
