Ok we got a call back from the DVC sales manager. He explained how he spoke in length with our old guide and the other dvc managers and decided that we will get $200 in dining coupons for our next trip. It is fine with me since it wasn't about the money for me but hubby feels smacked in the face.
Oh well at least IMO they did extend themselves. Hubby disagrees.
But the moral of this story is don't trust everything the guides say since they are salesmen. Our mistake was trusting what he told us as truth. Now even the DVC manager mentioned that they "sometimes" offer a 7 day extention.
So if you are buying now or adding on don't do what we did and go by their terms. Set your terms and sticjk firmly to them. If you need more time tell the guide that you will not buy unless you have the courtesy.
Hopefully my complaint will get them to relook into how they train their guides and that at least one customer was left feeling "had".
