Ok we got a call back from the DVC sales manager. He explained how he spoke in length with our old guide and the other dvc managers and decided that we will get $200 in dining coupons for our next trip. It is fine with me since it wasn't about the money for me but hubby feels smacked in the face.

Oh well at least IMO they did extend themselves. Hubby disagrees.

But the moral of this story is don't trust everything the guides say since they are salesmen. Our mistake was trusting what he told us as truth. Now even the DVC manager mentioned that they "sometimes" offer a 7 day extention.

So if you are buying now or adding on don't do what we did and go by their terms. Set your terms and sticjk firmly to them. If you need more time tell the guide that you will not buy unless you have the courtesy.

Hopefully my complaint will get them to relook into how they train their guides and that at least one customer was left feeling "had".

Glad to hear that you got something in exchange for all of the trouble and headaches! :D

Thanks.. I am glad too.

It is the principle. Now if it were me I would have matched the value the customer was out but it isn't I am just glad I made myself heard KWIM? Maybe now they will realize that for the one that does speak out there are others who won't.

Hopefully I wasn't just yes'd to death KWIM?

I agree with your husband. Anything less than the original discount plus the dining coupons wouldn't even touch what you've gone through.

I am just glad it is done. I mean how far can I take this KWIM? It has already been a nightmare enough. It is just a shame that something which started off good (being able to buy DVC) has this cloud over it. Hopefully through my posting about this mess other people will be aware.

What would you say if I told you DVC offered to buy back my first DVC contract shortly after we joined and we bought RESALE.

WOW Dean really. OMG was it due to sales tactics or was it a bigger problem?

Mostly it was due to inaccuracies given to us during the tour which we could document. And even though they we ended up buying resale, that was before there was much of a resale market (94). They gave us I think it was 8 one day park hopper passes and then ended up offering to buy us out in addition. I actually was willing to accept their offer but my wife wanted DVC so. I'm glad we kept the contract, it has worked out for us.

Well that sure isn't the case now. I guess they don't want us totally happy just placaded.....spelling? LOL
