Parmigiano Reggiano

So should I leave the price on it and impress her?

Haha - I make fettucine alfredo with homemade sauce - and an absolutely essential ingredient is good fresh parmigiano-reggiano cheese. My sister made it once and was too cheap to buy the real cheese - so she used grated parmigiana. Yuck - she regretted serving it and the rest of us didn't enjoy eating it! I warned her beforehand, though ...

I don't know where "Freedonia" is, but if it's in North Jersey or New York City, you'll want to go to Fairway Market to buy your Regg. Fairway sells it for as little as $8.99 a pound (on sale) and unlike Costco, you won't have to buy a huge chunk.

There is a Fedonia in very upstate New York, in Arizona and in Wisconsin.

And if there is a Costco nearby you can get it at a very reasonable price (only about $11 per pound).

Or serve a bottle of wine or two pre- eating and then they can't tell the difference.

It isn't cheap here either. I eat way too much of it.

it ain't cheap:eek:

But it's so worth it.:goodvibes I like it sprinkled onto a plate w/extra virgin olive oil, freshly ground pepper, sea salt, and balsamic vinegar. Crusty bread to dip and I am in 7th heaven. I could eat that alone for dinner and be very happy.

Leave the label on it so she knows it's not fake.;)

I just wish there was somewhere here to buy it without driving an hour and a half!! :sad2:

Cheap if you consider it one of the main ingredients for the Monkeyboy Forumula for Love.;)
