We are booked on a 4 day Dream cruise for April. We are staying at AoA for 2 days prior to the cruise and AKL for 2 days after.

Our plan was to do the parks before and after the cruise.

We have also tossed around the idea of just having the resort stays and enjoying the resorts and doing other stuff, like having pool time and going to DTD.

We do go to Disney 1-2 x per year, so it's not like we'd be missing anything in the parks I just don't know if I could be that close and not go...experiences?

Do you have annual passes? If not, then you might consider purchasing passes. The 14 day expiration date only kicks in if you actually use them, so if you don't use them you can save them to the next time you come back to Disney World.

Since you go that often, I would say just enjoy the resort and DTD. That way you aren't rush rush rush, cruise, and then back to the rush rush rush again. It will allow your vacation to be more relaxing. That is just personal opinion though.

yes, we are annual passholders. :)

In that case, I think I would play it by ear. There's absolutely lots to enjoy at the resorts, but you could also head over to the parks and experience a favorite attraction or show.

Last Spring, We did 3 days at Disney, a 4n Bahamas cruise, then 2 days at Universal. If I had it to do over again, I would do the parks before the cruise, but not after. It was fun to do the parks and then get into relaxation mode on the cruise....but then we got all hectic doing parks again after the cruise and then had to fly home. :scared:

Just from what I've read for the years I've been on disboards, I am thinking go to the parks ahead of cruise and enjoy amenities at akl after cruise :)

I would play it by ear since you have AP's. We did a pre-cruise AKL stay about 4 years ago and I swore we were only going to stay at the resort. Well, two days into it, I couldn't take it and DS and I went over to AK for the day.
