Parks MLK weekend

We will be at DW 1/14 - 1/25. I have 10 day PH and will be there for 12 days (leaving early on last day). Trying to decide which day to take off. I keep seeing people say that weekend is really crowded. We were thinking of taking our first day off (Sunday) but I'm worried that Monday (MLK) the parks will be really crowded. We've never gone this time of year before and am looking forward to getting out of the cold of the northeast. Also looking forward to Festival of the Arts.

Imo taking Sunday off is a good idea. A fair amount of people there for the 3-day weekend are likely to use at least part of Monday as a travel day.

But the whole holiday weekend (including Monday) will likely be crowded...
