We've had this question before. Wasn't the answer Mission: Space?

Oh yeah, that's it! Space Mountain. I third Space Mountain.

While we're waiting for Mbabe's answer...

What was Discovery Island called when Walt Disney World opened?

So close Sandy. ;)

I believe the answer is Space Mountain.

carpedm.... Yes! You are correct!

Space aged AAQ card to carpedm! :bounce:

Sorry it took so long folks :)

:smooth:

Discovery Island was previously called Safari Village, name change to Discovery Island on December 10, 2000.

You have the name sequence correct pintrader, but Safari Village was not the original name of the island on WDW's opening day.

Was it Blackbeard's Island?

You might want to be more specific next time, carpedm. There are 2 Discovery Islands. One is the animal park in the middle of Bay Lake that is now closed. The other is the area surrounding the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom.

You are correct DisneyBen- Blackbeard's Island. AAQ to you.

Since DAK did not exist in 1971, that Discovery Island did not exist either, nor was it named. Thanks for keeping me honest though. :)

OK how's this then? On January 1, 1978 Treasure Island changed its name to Discovery Island

Here we go......

On the car attached to the giant Stratocaster outside RnRC, 2 parts actually work. What are they?
