Parks Game! Part 6! Keep Playing! You Can't Stop Now!

WBMinnie..... I'll second Huntress on that, it sounds good :).

If that's not right, maybe I'll guess Millionaire :p

:smooth:

Good morning all! And a Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers of the Chalk Circle!!! :)

Okay, I'm a day late. Didn't anyone hear of the phrase it's the thought that counts! ;)

And while we are pondering the origin of those words, I'll toss out the Monday Morning softball.

Name the legitimate ways you can get inside the gates of a WDW park without paying admission.

:sunny:

Granny.... with a Shopping Pass?

:smooth:

I brought loads of caffine under the guise of beverages ;)....and I'm willing to sahre...Enjoy :p

:sunny: Morning All. :sunny:

Hope all you mothers had a great mothers day.

Granny: Not Pooh.
DisBen: You are right that Flight of the Bumblebee used to be heard in Illuminations.

There is one more event that used to have the song FLight of the Bumblebee. Here's the hint. It was extremely short-lived at the Animal Kingdom.

Granny: You can use the 1 hour shopping pass to get in the park (but stay over that time and you pay).

Some good "free admission" answers already! Correct answers so far:

Work for Disney as CM or contractor (BluesT)
Get a freebie from Disney, probably for a faux pas (BluesT)
One hour shopping pass (MBabe)

I can think of one other way.

MBabe...thanks for the coffee! I brought plenty of goodies for breakfast, so everyone dig in!

Granny: If you had a season pass to Cypress Gardens then you get one free admission day at Epcot. Only during the flower and garden festival. Does that work?

Pam....I wasn't aware of that, but I'll put that under "Special Promotions" so we don't get a recount of every special promotion Disney has offered. So now, we have:

Work for Disney as CM or contractor (BluesT)
Get a freebie from Disney, probably for a faux pas (BluesT)
One hour shopping pass (MBabe)
Special promotions (Pam)

I've still got one more. :)

Granny.... If you are a "Special" Guest...... such as the 1 Billionth guest?

:smooth:

Granny, A couple of the tours don't require you to purchase park admission, but you do have to pay for the tour -- Yuletide Fantasy ($59) and Backstage Magic ($199). They certainly ain't free, but they don't require a ticket. Do they count?

--Leigh Ann

Good Monday Everybody!

Okay, now------not Rock N'Roller Coaster
not Backstage Tour
not Great Movie Ride

in fact not at MGM at all.

another clue, not anywhere anymore. I should have phrased the question to read "Where COULD you have heard......." I'm so depressed. All my favorites are going the way of the dodo. Please pass the caffiene and sugar laden pastries, preferably chocolate coated.
(Thanks, I needed that.)

MBabe....I'm going to include "Special Guest" such as 1 billionth guest under the "Disney Promotions" category.

Leigh Ann....looking back at my question, I did say without paying an admission fee, so yes, a tour would qualify.

Wow, you guys are good!! So far:

Work for Disney as CM or contractor (BluesT)
Get a freebie from Disney, probably for a faux pas (BluesT)
One hour shopping pass (MBabe)
Special promotions (Pam)
Tours (lacool)

Still haven't hit on the last one I'm thinking of though.

Maybe this also falls under special promotions, but I think the bands that are guests bands of the day don't have to pay admission either.

Pam....do you mean like high school bands or other non-professional performers at WDW? They get into the parks free? If so, that would be a new answer.

If you mean bands like Off Kilter or others that get paid by Disney, they would fall under the contractor category that has already been covered.

Keep 'em coming...I had no idea there were so many answers! :)

I was thinking of the high school bands that usually perform before the parades at the Magic Kingdom.

One more: The active military get a free admission for themselves and their families. (THis was also done after the first gulf war) and is a current promotion. Guess that also falls under special promotions.

Regarding the bands: I think the day they play is considered free admission for them. (I know a college band friend who did this, but I may be wrong for the high school bands, but assume it would be the same for both?)
Sorry for that double post.

MBabe thanks for the caffine. Granny thanks for the chocolate donut. Yum!!

Pam...you're stuck in that parellel universe thread again! Don't move towards the light! :p

Okay, here's our list of ways to get inside the WDW without paying admission:

Work for Disney as CM or contractor (BluesT)
Get a freebie from Disney, probably for a faux pas (BluesT)
One hour shopping pass (MBabe)
Special promotions (Pam)
Tours (lacool)
Non-professional entertainment act (Pam)

Oh, Pam, how I wish this were a current promotion! Sea World is doing it, but Disney has not announced anything yet. Currently just rumor...unless you know something I don't....hopefully....:earseek:

Oops. Lacool is right. They did this back in 2002 and I thought they were doing it again. I guess I confused it with the Busch Gardens promotion and the rumors I had been hearing. Sorry about that.
