Parks Game: Part 11! "Still Playing After All These Years..."

Jen...we've all done that "posted before I looked at all the responses" thing!! :p Looks like 1Hour got that one too!!

BTW...Jen, I like that avatar you've got under your name! Makes me laugh! :p

Here is one for our weekend warriors....

Where in the Magic Kingdom must you pass under the WDW Rail Road tracks before entering the attraction?

:p

Space Mountain!!

(At DL, you pass under the tracks with Haunted Mansion).

Oh good grief. Blonde moment. I thought you meant which TRAIN STATION you had to walk under the tracks to get on the train.... :p

I need a Disney fix!!! :earseek:

MCMom

marty... Yes, Space Mountain is one of the two attractions. :)

and...

Dave... the other is Splash Mountain. :teeth:

Mountainous AAQ cards to marty and Dave. ::yes::

MCMom.... I need a Disney fix myself :p

Guess it's time to use that old AAQ, don't want it getting rusty. :)

What is unusual about Pinocchio's Village Haus' decor and name?

ShadowWind.... not really sure about the Pinocchio question, but I'll guess that the decor and name are the only German theming in Magic Kingdom???

Shadow....let's see....Pinocchio is not the only Disney animation film set in Germany, is it? The architecture might be German, though I think it is more English Tudor myself...go figure!

The language of the name contains German, but that's not the only German you will see written in MK. There's a German salutation in It's a Small World.

Maybe there's a hidden Mickey in the sign?

Well the name is written in both English (“Village”) and German (“Haus”)…so that’s a little unusual…as for the building…does it have something to with having both indoor and outdoor seating…or are you looking for the fact it is the only restaurant that has a view of the inside of an attraction (IASW)??

Those are all good guesses, but still isn't it...Maybe this question was a bit too subtle. Hint: There was a lot of discussion at Disney at one point concerning this oddity.

Micar gets an italian AAQ.

Pinoccho is Italian (not German), but somehow Disney imagineers decided to make the restaurant in a german motif. They had quite a discussion at one point about redoing the restaurant to be Italian, but nothing ever came of it I guess.

Sheesh!!! [insert BIG HEADSLAP here]

Actually, I don't think a head slap is adequate in this instance!

That's more like it!

mlcar....always wonderful to see you around here! And you swooped in to nail that question!! Very nice! :)

Actually, what I'm thinking is that when the park first opened, Jiminy Cricket's name was spelled incorrectly. Although it was left that way for some time, the decision was finally made to correct it.

AKQJ10,
That's interesting. Had never heard that, but that would have only been one place in the decor and not the name...

Higgs,
Actually it isn't the only restaurant that looks inside an attraction. Mexico's San Angel Inn looks over the El Rio Del Tiempo ride, the Garden Grille has a balcony that looks over a scene or two of Living with the Land as it turns. Coral Reef has a view of the same tank in the Living Seas. Thanks for the guess though.

Don't worry Granny, it never dawned on me in all the years I was there until someone made a point about it...

Wow...good point--I never thought about all those other restaurants....Interesting question :)

I'll toss one out to WAKE UP everyone.... ;)

In what WDW attraction is there an alarm clock going off?

:wave2:
