Parks Game: Part 10! How Perfect is That!!!

Granny - Clarifications:

Mexico - there is a waterfall on the ride. After you leave the room with the small world type characters, you enter the rock formations where the scuba diver, and bar scene is - on the right there is a small waterfall in a crevice in the rocks.

Norway - to give the impression that the boat is falling out of the building there is a fall that makes it look like the river continues outside.

Swiss - there is a babbling brook and falls by the kitchen, not big, but a falls. The creek runs right by the sink - but the family erects a huge water wheel and drainage system to supply the sink - when the creek is a step away. Makes you wonder.

20K - Don't know if the falls are still turned on or not.

POC - I was counting the 'rapids' as a falls

Granny - waterfalls.....

...it looks like most of 'em are already out there, how 'bout these:

IASW
Kali? (probably rapids)
GMR ( if we're doing film clips)
Back Lot Tour? (Catastrophe Canyon...it's short-lived, but still...)
Germany EPCOT (in the train set on the back side)

....I'll try to think of some more......

:earsboy:

Where at WDW can you find a Funeral Director by the name of David L. Davies?
amandadaddy was the closest with the guess of New York Street. It's actually on the new London St., over close to the old Hunchback Theater.
A six feet under AAQ to you, amandadaddy!

Thanks James!

I'll hold this AAQ Card 'till we finish the waterfall question.

How are we doin' on those Granny?

:earsboy:

Okay, lots of good input on waterfalls!!

1Hour...Mexico....I remembered the Acapulco cliff divers (or are they in IASW???), but not the waterfall. I'll defer to your memory and let someone else challenge you! :p

Norway....your explanation works for me....it's a thin line between a rapids and a falls!! :)

Swiss Family Treehouse....very good!!

20K...we'll need someone to confirm.

And ADaddy....where are the falls on IASW?

Kali Rapids does have a waterfall with water cascading over the rocks and falling on the rafts below if you happen to get stuck there!!

Backlot Tour? Nice try, but that would fall under the heading of cascading water, not an intended waterfall! :p

GMR...yes, film clips work for me. Which film clip is it??

And I'll have to take your word on that Germany train set...anyone care to confirm??

MBabe...I thought of Universe of Energy, but I didn't remember a waterfall. I thought they were on top of a dam when talking about hydroelectricity? Need a confirmation someone!

So, correct answers:
Canada EPCOT (1Hour)
Japan EPCOT (1Hour)
JIYI (1Hour)
Peter Pan's Flight (1Hour)
Splash Mtn (1Hour)
Tiki Room (1Hour)
Jungle Cruise (1Hour)
Mexico (1Hour)
Norway (1Hour)
Swiss Family Treehouse (1Hour)
GMR (ADaddy)
Kali Rapids (Adaddy)
IASW (ADaddy).....need confirmation
20K area (1Hour)....need confirmation
Germany - train set (ADaddy)...need confirmation
U of Energy (MBabe)....need confirmation

I think that's all the answers I had. I wasn't sure if there was one on BTMRR or not.

And for some reason, I am thinking of some movie that shows people going near Niagara Falls??? Must be my imagination! :)

Granny -

I believe that there is a waterfall in the Tahitian (sp?) portion of IASW.....however, I freely admit that I almost always enter IASW with romantic visions of one of Walt's personal creations that is a must do at WDW, only to find myself wondering what I was thinking of as the ride makes that first turn; soon after, I become painfully aware that were it not for the company of DD and DW, this would go down as the biggest waste of 12 minutes of my life....after that, it's all kinda foggy, but I'm pretty sure that there is a waterfall somewhere near the Tahitians.

...as for the train thing in Germany at EPCOT, there is a water-driven mill of some sort on the hill above the rest of the track and the village. I think those are always located on a small waterfall.

And the waterfall I remember on the GMR was Niagra falls and the scene from Superman where he flies the boy to safety....honestly, I'm not sure about this one, some of those clips go by very quickly.

Since we seem to be close to putting this one to bed, I'll dig up my 6-foot-under AAQ card:
Where in WDW can you find a field of grass growing on top of a building?

:earsboy:

ADaddy...thanks for the clarification, and some "backside of water" AAQ's to 1Hour, ADaddy and MBabe for playing "Name that Waterfall"!! :p

Now....grass on top of a building??? Must be brutal trying to get the riding mower up there!!

It sounds like something they'd do at The Land, but that roof isn't flat enough, is it? So I'll guess that it's a building near the golf course where they're testing new grass??

/
Thanks for the AAQ card Granny....anyone got a towel?

This one suprised me when I saw it, grass growing on a roof?!? Sorry, but the building in question is not in the Land, and has nothing to do with golf......but those are good guesses!

:earsboy:

ADaddy..... I'll make a couple of guesses.... How about Dinosaur to blend in with the AK vegitation more.... or maybe the Rainforest Cafe'?

:p

Okay...grass on the roof, huh???
ratlos.gif

And it's visible from the ground??

And it's in a park, right??

Okay, I'll guess that the grass hut of the Tiki house is living grass??

Okay, okay...bad guess. I'll guess somewhere in UK in WS.

Sorry MBabe - I'm not aware of any grass growing on the top of the Dinosaur building; the Rainforest Cafe might have something like this, but it's not in the parks. Two more good gueses though!

:earsboy:

Sorry Granny; to the best of my knowledge, grass does not grow on the top of any of the UK buildings (not very proper, an un-British thing if ever there was one!)

...as for the Tiki Hut.....you're right, dead grass-bad guess...:p

:earsboy:

ADaddy.... How about the roof of the building at Goofy's Barnstormer?

:smooth:

Okay, you made me curious so I cheated! search engine

I'm going to leave it out there though for someone who may know it without the search engine!!

I must say, it's quite interesting...I learn something every day here! :)

I'm going to stick with the WS theme and venture a guess....well, I know which roofs definitely don't have grass on them, so I'm going to have to narrow it down to something in Germany, Norway or Canada, all places that may possible grow some nice grass?

Would it count if I just listed all the countries and hoped one of them was right?

The grass roofs can be found in Harambe, in the Africa section of Disney's Animal Kingdom. In fact, Disney brought over 13 Zulu craftsman from Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, to create the thatched roofs throughout Africa including the Harambe Village Marketplace.

:teeth:

-A

Okay, I'll say that I think that the grass-roofed building that ADaddy is looking for is Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in Norway in WS. :)

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
Good Florida Sunny Morning to you all!

I'll second Granny on the grass topped Norway Bakery and add...

I believe there is a grass topped home in the German Railroad scene as well.

To get things rolling this a.m. ...

Where in the Magic Kingdom can you find Mines?

:hyper: Brrrrrr..... Good Frozen North Morning to you! ;)

1Hour.... BTMRR and Snow White :)

:wave2:

I have Hot and Cold Morning beverages here for all!.... Enjoy! :p
