Parks closed due to capacity?

I assume this happens at busy times. What is Universal's protocol? Are resort guests allowed in no matter what? Our first day there will be the 4th of July and I know it's going to be a madhouse. We plan on getting to Universal first thing, heading back to the Hard Rock for a nap and swim in the afternoon, then heading back to watch the Cinematic Spectacular. Just want to make sure we'll be able to get back in.

I doubt both parks would be closed to capacity. I know during Christmas break, IOA has closed due to capacity but I don't think Universal was.

You shouldn't have any issues.

We have been there that week for the past few years and this year too, onsite at RPR. I have never seen it close due to capacity at all during those dates. But you never know. But staying onsite does not guarantee you access when at capacity, these are fire codes not Universals codes.:thumbsup2

That should have been the next part of my question. Does Universal have levels of capacity closing like Disney does?

With the crowds of that week, has Express worked as well as it usually does?

not really.
it's more of a head count inside the park no matter where the park guest is staying.

when the parks are crowded, the express lines will have a lot shorter wait than the regular ride lines.

the express line should be 20 minutes or less for your waits.

when i go (0ct), the express line wait is usually less than 6 minutes.

I had friends there onsite when IOA closed to capacity during Christmas. They were not allowed in.It is a Fire Code thing..AFAIK there are no levels to closing. The park just reached critical mass and closed till people left
