Parking ???

Does WDW always charge for parking or do they stop after a certain time? I know I might get flamed for this, but we don't get in to Orlando until afternoon and thought it might be fun to see Wishes and the Electric Water Parade the first night from the Poly/TTC/ or the ferry. I don't know if we could get into the poly without a reservation and really don't want to pay $10 for parking just for a few hours. And yes we are also staying off-site

I may be wrong, but I think you can park at any resort for up to 3 hours with no charge (not valet but self-park).

FYI we have arrived at WDW late (after 6:30pm) and we've found the parking booths unattended, I assume that means that they were no longet charging for parking.

I don't think you have to pay for parking at the resorts. I would just tell them you were there to look around at the resort. They will ask for a phot id and give you a pass for a few hours.
