Parking without Park Reservation

We would like to park at Hollywood Studios and use the Skyliner to get over to Riviera on our down day, can we do this without a park reservation?

A park reservation is only needed to actually enter the theme park. Anybody may enter the parking lot; if not a WDW-resort guest there is a fee.

We did this is in October (onsite at DVC so no parking fee). When they asked at the "toll booth" if we had a park reservation, I just said we were taking the skyliner to Riviera and they waved us right through.
