Take the
ECV with you and put it on supersonic hare. It is nobody's business how fast you go as long as you are not a menace to society. They are more interested in the park than you. Use the chair early on to get from point A to Point B. Park it in stroller parking and take the key. I plan to go back to
Disneyland next week if I can get some handlers to go with me, long story. I plan to park and walk on the rides with short lines through exits. Be warned that some lines can be a long long long walk up and down hills.
You will not need a GAC if you are in the ECV but if you plan to do some walking then get the GAC and tell them your limitations such as stairs. Remember that walking a block on 10 rides is one mile and 10 minutes per line is 100 minutes. Add up the 100 minutes on your feet, one mile walking, the stress of the ride and lines, and the work out of getting into and out of rides.
Rent from offsite. You can test drive it at the hotel, tour the resort, and if necessary do some practice maneuvers like backing up, parallel parking, and turning. You can check out their scooters which are smaller that WDW scooters, cheaper, and easier to use. They all go about 5 mph top speed and 3 mph is average person walking speed.

This dude did Magic Kingdom in a
scooter. He is running full speed and as you see he is not going so fast as to cause a scene. You do see the kids who run ahead of the parents then stop and run back. This is something you deal with even when walking. I had one dude in DCA actually run with a stroller then stop in front of me and scream in my face to his family. It was as if I did not exist and I was slow waddling at the time. There is the lady who trips and the impromptu stops by people who just stop in a crowd. I love his videos and there are two more in
youtube. As you see it is easy to do an ECV in parks if you have patience.

As you see most people are going from one place to another and do not even pay attention to a dude in an ECV. AT about 2 minutes in you see the stroller parking for Pirates, have fun with the videos.
