We will be headed to Disney World in two weeks for our first time!!

A question about parking....

We are staying on site (but not at the Poly) and renting a car. One of the days we will be having breakfast at O'hana, then heading over to MK for the day. Can we just stay parked at the Poly and take the monorail over to MK if they scan our magic band? Or is this the more difficult route? Any parking advice would be helpful, its so hard to visualize.

Thanks in advance :)

If you valet park, you can keep your car there for the day.

Otherwise, you'll be limited to a few hours.

Personally, I would park at the MK parking lot then take the monorail to Poly.

Agreed. There is also a walkway from TTC to Poly. Not sure if its status with the construction going on.

Is that because it would be the easiest way out of MK in the evening?

Probably not. The point is that if you're not staying at the Poly, you're only supposed to park there for your meal (up to 3 hours), unless you do valet. That you're onsite at another resort has no relevance to this.

If you have Tables in Wonderland, your valet parking is complementary and you get 20% off your entire meal. This is a good option for those who do not choose the dining plan and have a lot of sit down meals.

I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info! :goodvibes

only if you pay for valet parking. otherwise you only get a 3 hour pass when not staying at that resort but want to eat there or visit.

Follow parking signs for MK. Park, take the tram to the TTC. If you get parked close to the TTC you can skip the tram and walk in from the parking lot. It's a 5-10 minute walk from TTC to the Poly. After breakfast, exit to the monorail (same level as 'Ohana) and head off to the MK.

Wonderful! Thank you!!

Since u are staying onsite parking is free at any WDW park as long as you have your car print out in the dashboard of your car. So it would be free at the TTC - we just did it last week.

While this is true, the TIW parking is designed for while you are eating. Not after breakfast for a day at the parks.

Don't be totally shocked if the guard at the gate of the Poly (if you choose to park there then move the car) doesn't give you a "3 hour pass" or even mention 3 hours. Don't be shocked if they do, either. I have yet to have a guard gate mention ANY sort of timeframe for parking in a resort lot when I'm there to dine, look around, or shop.

We just did this last week - breakfast at O'Hana and left the car there while we were in MK (until lunchtime). We asked the parking attendant and he said to ask inside (no placard was given to us for the 3 hour time limit). When we asked in side, they said it would be fine since the resort was not full at the time.

I think this may differ during more busy times of the year when the parking lots are more full, but I would ask at the resort.

However, I don't think it was any faster/ more convenient to park at the resort. We just were running late in the morning and didn't want to park at TTC and walk or take the monorail back to Poly.

That's the important thing to keep in mind - sometimes the rules are bent, but you can't plan on it.
