parking to visit city walk during the day

I don't have much experience with Universal and the only two times I've visited I've stayed onsite. If we are coming in to town and just want to eat at a city walk restaurant during the day, is my only option to pay $25 dollars to park? I see they have free self parking after 6 but that doesn't quite fit my plan.

You could try Uber or Lyft. If you've never used them then you can usually find a promo code online and save some $.

Thank you for the suggestion. We'll be staying at Disney and have a car and was hoping to just swing through on our way from the airport though.
