We are going in October and will be staying at the Boarwalk Inn. In the past when we have stayed at non-monorail hotels (pre-9/11), we always would park at the monorail hotels for our days at MK/Epcot and then shuttle over via the monorail. In the past we had asked to make sure that this was alright at check in. Everytime, they stated because we were a resort guest it would not be a problem(ask long as we showed id). In the post 9/11 world, is this still possible.

maxwelljsmom,

The MK hotels (Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian) have since put a stop to people who are not a guest of that particular hotel parking in the lots and jumping on the monorail. It became a problem when there was not enough parking for the hotels guests.

You can park at these hotels if you have PS for a meal, the guard at the gate will give you a pass to park for 3 hours. This will give you enough time to eat and maybe enjoy a little shopping but not to hop to the parks. :)

Yes, there are signs at all monorail resorts and the Boardwalk that parking is for guests visiting the resort or staying there BUT not for park parking.

When I went to the Contemporary for breakfast he asked what I was doing there and looked on a list for my PS number and then proceded to write down my license # and give me a 3 hour pass. They are especially strict about this in the morning as they know what some are up to.

I stayed at the Contemporary 2 years ago and it was a huge problem trying to find parking for my car. We saw people parking and then walking over to MK. VERY frustrating.

You can still park in the MK parking lot and ride the monorail over from the TTC. No problem doing this. Leave the resort parking for the guests who are staying there.
