Parking question?

We've stayed onsite our last 3 trips, so staying offsite this time is going to be a change. I actually have 2 questions about parking:
If we are park hopping (we'd always start at MK), is it easy to get a bus from MGM or monorail from EPCOT back to the TTC at the end of the day, or would it be better to take our car from lot to lot?
And, if we are onsite for other things, such as Downtown Disney and Blizzard Beach, do we have to pay for parking? Which, I guess leads me to another question: If we want to eat at a restaurant in a hotel (such as at the Contemporary) do we have to make a PS ahead of time in order to get into the parking lot of that hotel, or can we drive up & say we want to eat at the restaurant? We'll be there the the week after NY's, so I don't expect to need PS's.
Thanks for any info!

I find it easier to take the car from park to park.
The water parks and DD have free parking, they do not, btw, have busses to the theme parks.
You can drive up there, tell them you want to eat, they will give you a three hour parking pass.

Thanks, Gail, that's the info I was looking for. We're having more non-park days this trip, so Downtown Disney & BB will be non-park days. On park days I wasn't sure if it would be more of a hassle to move the car, or to take Disney transportation back to our original parking. Thanks!
