Parking question

I will be traveling later this month and staying on points. A friend of mine will be there the same dates but going to different parks as us on different days. She's renting a car and we'll be using Disney transportation. Could I give her one of my spare magic bands to scan for free parking at the theme parks? I assume there could be some risks in giving my magic band away, but I trust her not to use it for nefarious things! Thoughts on whether this would work?

Any chance your friend would be (or could be) included on your reservation? If so, they'd get free parking that way. I wouldn't give my MB to someone else like that to save a couple dollars.

Resort guests get free parking at the parks during the stay, including DVC.

It's not like they bed check you. She could be staying in your room.

This will cause chaos in MDE if she is staying somewhere else that is Disney though.

I could probably check off for her not to see my plans and such and then she won't have my reservations clogging up her MDE?

If you have openings on your reservation, I would just add her name in MDE. Then she'll get the same resort-guest perks you do.

This hasn't been a problem for me in the past... people registered in two rooms for the same night. It was two different DVC rooms, if that's relevant.

You actually have to add her to your RESORT reservation, then she can link your resort reservation number to her MDE. As to your second question, yes. I usually say as they scan, "Staying at zxy." and smile. Make sure she knows where you are. They have been known to ask just to make sure.

If she is registered guest of a WDW resort, she will be allowed free parking in the parks. If she is not then she will have to pay.
