Wow. Glad i asked. Probably since space at DLCA is at such a premium. Its just a bit dissappointing that onsite guests dont get free parking. For the extra $7 ill sprin for valet vs self park. $42 extra for our 6 nights isnt gonna break
Don't forget tips.
I considered using valet on our last trip, but the waiting part is annoying.
Also, unless you are going out in the car on most days, at least to my mind, it seemed silly to use valet. Take a few extra moments to park the car on my own and leave it there for a few days? Yes, please. But if I'm taking the car out EVERY day, then OK.
I have booked all trips thru WDT or Costco and have never had to pay this before, yet I just got off the phone with them and was informed about it. Another thing that has changed!!
I just went through Costco Travel, and it states "
Vacation packages for hotel stays at one of the Hotels of the
Disneyland Resort
features amenities like high speed internet access, newspaper delivery (weekdays), access charges for calling card, toll free calls and local calls within a 12 mile radius,
self parking, unlimited use of the health facilities."
I don't see that on the WDTC booking pages.
But if you're booking hotel-only, then that's the difference. Although we've had a car for most of our Disneyland trips, I like a parking fee rather than a resort fee. It irks me to pay for things like newspapers and access to a pool...but parking? I can get behind charging for parking. (though it's lovely that WDW doesn't charge that for resort guests)
