Parking Question

Hi all,
I am sooo excited about our upcoming stay at WDW and our first (VERY short) trip home. Due to waitlisting and such we have strange reservations. We are arriving Tuesday and spending the night at the Yacht Club on DVC points. Wednesday we check out of the YC and into a 2bedroom at BCV for the next night. We check out on Thursday. I know we get free valet parking at DVC resorts and we don't want/need to use/move the rental while we are there, SO... is it OK if we unload at the YC and then take the rental to the BC to valet park and tehn walk back to the YC to check in? Is this immoral or just utilizing my DVC membership? Also, I'd rather leave the car at the BC because that is where we will be leaving from. Thanks for any advice...

It's certainly legal and seems reasonable. Sounds like what I'd do as well. I can't see anyone having a problem with it.

How many $1000's did you pay for your DVC membership? It is not immoral when you exercise the benefits that are included as part of your membership. It is throwing away money when you are given benefits, have a use for them, and then don't exercise them.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with your plan. Free (except for an appropriate tip, of course) valet parking is a benefit of DVC membership. You do not have to be staying on points, or even staying at all, to enjoy that benefit. DVC annual dues help to support the valet service.

Thank you all for your replies! My next question is... I am the DVC member and my boyfriend rented/is driving the rental car. I was going to have him drop me off at the YC and start checking in while he takes the car to the BC. As the DVC member, do I have to go with him to valet park and show my DVC card? Or do we show the DVC card when we pick up the car?

I don't know the answer for sure, but my advice is to give( well, really lend, LOL) him your DVC membership card to show the valet. If he's questioned (because the name on the card isn't his), he should just tell them the truth - you are the member and you are checking in over at the YC while he "parks" the car with the valet. I doubt there will be a problem. Have fun!

I don't see that making any difference. I'd give him the card to show then grab it back when he returns. Enjoy your trip.
