Parking Question

The last time we went to DL was on Father's Day. We got to the Mickey & Friends parking structure about 45 minutes til the park opened and it did not open for another 15 minutes. This caused us to get into the park 20 minutes after opening, thus ruining any chance of getting on Nemo (one and a half hour wait) that day. I have read that the parking is supposed to open one hour before park opening. Was this just a screw up by Disney on that particular day?

Also, what lot is better to park in, the Mickey & Friends or the Timon lot? We will be dropping our wives & kids off at the front gate and then parking. Would the Timon lot be a better choice and is it supposed to open one hour before park opening?

The Timon lot is not always open so I wouldn't count on it, however, since you'll be in that general area anyway after dropping folks off, you could try it. But just know that you may be directed to Mickey and Friends.


Also, FYI, was just there this weekend and even with the Veteran's Day holiday, Nemo was only about 50 minutes long in the middle of the day. So it has definitely calmed down. We would just grab some fries and a coke from Tomorrowland Terrace and get in line. It wasn't too bad.

yeah, i wouldnt suggest parking in Timon lot anymore, sometimes, they shuttle you to Simba lot which is like by Paradise pier. a VERY long walk to the front of the park. or you can take the monorail which is a lot closer...

I figured we would just walk from the Timon lot to the front entrance. I will probably press my luck with the Mickey & Friends lot and hope that it opens on time.
