We'll be at POFQ in October also. You'll find a lot of differing opinions on whether driving yourself or taking the bus is better. If you are driving to WDW and have a car it could be a good option. This trip we will be flying and will have a rental car for a few days to go offsite but will be using Disney Transportation otherwise. Driving yourself may seem quicker but you still have to go through the parking lot toll plaza, get directed to a spot and make your way to the entrance. You have to wait for a Disney bus, which may be crowded, but it will generally let you off closer than if you parked. Some parks are better than others. Epcot has a long walk from the POFQ bus stop to the entrance but at MK the bus stop lets you avoid the lot and the ferry/monorail trip. Also if you leave at a busy time the bus line may be busy but so will traffic trying to drive out. Since I'm the one that has to do the driving I really appreciate letting someone else to do the driving. Just my 2 cents.
