Parking question for Resort Hotels?

We are staying at the Hilton in Downtown Disney but plan to rent a car (DH *needs* to have a car!) I read on another board that if you are staying at one of the WDW hotels parking at any of the Dinsey parks is free - is this true?

Layout has changed so much since I have visited last (SO much bigger)... do you think it would be faster to bus/monorail to the parks or drive and park? If it is faster to drive and parking is NOT free.... what is the price for a day?

It would definitely be faster and far more convenient for you to drive to the parks.

I'm not sure about the free parking, though. I know the Swan/Dolphin get to park for free but I'm not sure whether that extends to the DTD resorts. I'd tend to think it doesn't but someone who has stayed there will answer better than I can.

I believe the theme park parking is still $7 per day.

The Hilton is not a WDW resort. I believe you will have to pay to park.
