Anyone on LI? Are there any other options to parking in Macarthurs long term lot? We are going for 11 days so it will be a significant fee! Does anyone know of any coupons or discounts? TIA

It might be cheaper to have a neighbor drive you.

At one time the Holiday Inn at the airport and Enterprise rent a car offered offsite airport parking. I don't know the fee and it's not listed on their website. You'll have to call the hotel (local number 631-5859500) and the local Enterprise location and ask.

The economy parking lot fee jumped up shortly after the new terminal opened.

I'd check the price of a car service - might be cheaper than paying for parking. I know when I fly out of LGA it's usually $50 cheaper to pay for a cab each way rather than paying for long-term parking.

So far I've been quoted $50-79 one way! Most of the car services I'm finding seem to be NYC based and I live on the east end of the island. I'm going to call a local taxi and see what they say.

If you're on a budget you can take LIRR or Hampton Jitney and then take a cab the rest of the way. You might check with the car rental agencies. I don't know if Enterprise will let you rent one day and drop off at ISP.

Check your local Pennysaver and see if there are any deals from your local taxi companies. Remember they're not going to have a fare going back and will include their deadhead leg in coming up with a price.

We used Classic once and they were pretty reasonable. We usually get a ride from family both ways.

I Swear I remember my cousin telling me that parking is free.......but maybe that was years ago?

Hey Tinkamom - we too are from the east end and are in the same situation. We usually park in long term as well even though it seems to have gone up in price lately. We used to have family drive us, but we started using long term because it was nice to have the car there and not inconvenience anyone. Good luck in your search. :sunny:

If you are a town of Islip resident you can get a sticker and park in the town lot, I'm not sure if the sticker is free though, but if its not I don't think its expensive. Before my parents moved to fl my Dad had one but I don't remember the exact deal, but I remember being envious!

Town of Islip residents pay for the sticker. I think its $40. for 2 years. We have one but since I dont pay the bills, not sure of the price. It was free years ago but no longer. This is one of the reasons we only fly from Islip. Plus home in 10 minutes after the plane lands.

I think it's $25 for one year or $40 for two
