Parking on resort

I still don’t know what this means. They don’t follow you to a spot. I agree it likely wouldn’t work abd I’d get towed. I disagree they pay much attention to which spot I parked at. I ask because sometimes we stay at a resort for a week or more, park and never move our car at all. How do they know that car “belongs” there?

It would be inappropriate to discuss the specific activities of security personnel. But they kinds do follow you to a spot and the regularly patrol the entire lot.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on whether they “follow you to a spot”. I agree on likely not being able to get away with leaving the car more than a day or two. I’d still love to hear if anyone’s actually done this.

cameras in the parking lots as well as parks

They have license plate readers at the gates. There are cameras everywhere. There are security cars patrolling the lots at all times.
And license plate reading is certainly mature technology. If your license plate can be read from an overhead gantry-mounted camera as you drive under it on a toll road at 70+ mph, it can certainly be read as you stop at the entrance kiosk at any of the resorts. At that point, associating the license plate with the driver’s Magic Band or KTTW card (when driving through a self-service or staffed security gate) or driver’s identification (when driving through a gate managed by security personnel without a Magic Band or KTTW card) is a simple matter. At some resorts, you even have to scan a Magic Band or KTTW card to enter a parking lot (the DVC parking lot at the Grand Floridian, most of the resort parking at Vero Beach, etc.).

Anyone try leaving car there fir a week and Uber to airport?
Sure, people who drive do park and leave their cars parks in the lots for a week all the time
Granted, they aren't then going to the airport, they are just taking Disney transportation around property but it is done.
But, let me follow this
You are going to make a Disney resort reservation, park, at some point check out, go to the airport, and at some point return to get your car?
Why? Seems like there's be no reason to do this with Disney charging for parking. Once your resort stay ended I would tend to think they would determine your car did not belong and tow it so that is a risk for sure

im not “going to do” anything. I’m just curious if it’s been tried, done, failed, etc

I don’t understand why anyone would do this either even if you were guaranteed not to be towed. Surely there are more convenient places to park than a random resort parking lot 30+ minutes from the airport.

I'm still not sure what's being asked. Leaving your car at a Disney Resort when you're not staying there? And then going someplace else for several days?

Many resorts have limited parking. All have security. They may or may not pay attention to an 'abandoned vehicle' that's not associated with a registered guest. Disney charges resort guests for parking (DVC owners/guests pay through their dues) so they do keep tabs on, say, a resort guest parking a car overnight and not paying for it. Whatever system/procedure they have in place to check that overnight parking would also catch non-guests / non-registered vehicles.

And if I did, the reason would be stay at both ends,

It wasn’t ridiculous. There’s plenty of hotels that also offer parking. I was just thinking if I’m staying here before and after a vacation going from MCO, it might be nice to leave my car somewhere that feels safe AND not have to take everything to the car, drive, park at some sketchy airport parking, take everything out of the car, wait for shuttle, lug it on the shuttle, lug it off shuttle ,etc. Uber there and back or the motor coaches and we’re done. I’d be thrilled to pay per night if needed. I got to wondering if anyone had done it. The responses were (I guess as expected because no one can just answer an f-in question) rude. So thanks.

I think the answer is simple: Once you're no longer a guest of a hotel, you can't leave your car there.

well since it’sa totally ridiculous notion I’m going to say no. No one has done it because it makes no sense
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who was scratching their head on this one…
