We are going on our first cruise in Oct. We are sailing out of NYC. Anyone know what the parking is like at the Manhattan Terminal? Does it fill up? It says I cant reserve a spot and I really dont want to park in a garage down the street and get dropped off at the terminal. Thanks!

I parked there when the magic was there in 12 I believe it was. I heard it fills up so I got there early around 1100 and there were plenty of parking spots at that time. Parking was better than I thought it was going to be. I thought the spaces will be tight but it was a decent amount of space. I would just get there early to be safe.

I am doing a late check in (after 12:30). Both my kids are on the Autism Spectrum and Disney said to come in after that for less lines, etc... Thats why I was wondering if I could reserve a spot.

We also parked there in 2012 and was shocked that it wasn't a madhouse- much easier and better spaces than I thought. However, we did get there early (around 10am or so) because I'm a charter member of the "never hurts to be early club." They do not reserve spots. However there is a "NYC Cruise Valet Parking" (more expensive of course) that does take reservations- haven't used it so can't really comment. Would it be an option to go early and then walk around NYC for a bit?

We also parked at the terminal, but I was paranoid about it filling up so we got there early. At that time, the off site options were more limited and you had to walk a ways. I would do some research and see if things have changed. Otherwise, I would consider arriving early. Maybe you can take a walk or something in the area? The intrepid museum was just a few piers down.

They don't have reservations but there are many parking lots in that area that do accept reservations. I'm not sure if they have weekly rates are not but if you need to be 100% sure you have a parking spot and can't leave early then that is an option.

Just as a heads up there is a great walking path and many areas around the cruise terminals so if your son was able you can arrive early and then walk around outside and look at the boat from afar. I don't believe you have to go directly to your cruise once you park in the terminal.

Thanks we avoid the city if we are not working (LOL)! Its good to know can walk by and see the ship. We can put him in the stroller and walk around. I was hoping someone parked there after 12 (noon) and knew how packed it was. I can show up at 11ish and walk around outside.
