Parking Lot Wheelchair Location at DHS?

My elderly mother (with limited mobility) will be traveling with us to visit DHS in April. She doesn't own an ECV but she wants to use one during our park day. We will stay on-site but we will also have a car. Instead of taking the resort bus, I'm thinking about driving to DHS so that she can borrow one of the parking lot wheelchairs that will enable her to get to the park entrance (and to the ECV rental place). Where in the lot are they available? I've looked at maps but I don't see a designated spot. Are these lot wheelchairs also available to those riding the buses?

Availability of wheelchairs to use in the parking lots can be spotty -- after the morning rush, it can really depend on whether/when someone has returned to the parking lot with one.

Have you considered an off-site ECV rental? It actually will be less expensive that renting in the parks, plus Mom will have it for use outside the parks (to/from parking lot or buses, around the resort, etc.).

Alternatively, except for MK, I believe you can do a drop-off near the front entrance and then park the car.

Enjoy your vacation!

The parking lot is the other side of the buses. However it is the smallest lot of all the parks and is usually full. In the case it is full it will be a long walk or you can get the tram.

The wheelchair 'corrals' look like this and are usually located at the handicapped parking area closest to the park entrance.

There is no guarantee and you may find there are none.

But, I agree with the other posters. The handicapped parking lot at the Studio is the smallest and we often find it full when we arrive. If that happens, you can drop some of your group off while the rest park in the regular lot and meet ip later.

If you decide to rent from off-site, you can find information in post 2 of the he disABILITIES FAQs thread - near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature.

Honestly I do not remember seeing any complimentary wheelchairs at Studios.

at most parks if not there well before rope drop, no wheelchairs in corral and had to walk anyway. for cost look at off site ECV rental as cheaper and you know you will have to get to gate.

They are by where you go across the cross walk from the parking lot. However I think the most I have ever seen there are 4 chairs.

And we've mostly seen it empty. It's easy to miss when it is empty unless you are looking for it.
