Which area in the parking structure is considered the best to park in? Do they let you pick which section you want to park in or do they direct you to the next available spot? If they let you pick, which section is the most coveted?

They direct you to whichever section of the garage is open...you cannot pick where you park. All parking spaces are the same to me.

Before we started staying on-site the most coveted parking space for me was the valet area!!! My theory is I'm on vacation so valet it is - now that we stay on-site it is still valet for me at both Universal and Disney.

It's a long way to Citywalk and the parks from any section of the parking garages so I don't worry about where I park. The garages I believe are the world's largest parking structures or so I hear.In the morning and afternoon you'll definitely be guided to your spot.Later in the day or at night you might be able to choose your space but not likely your section.

Just remember to use your camera or cell phone to photograph the lot ID signs where you parked. After a long day, all the parking lots and sections and rows look surprisingly the same.

Great idea! Thanks!

No. The walkway is covered and there are mover belts to speed up the walk. It's not too bad. City Walk can be fairly long but there's a lot to see so it doesn't feel too bad.

Another tip, is don't pay for preferred. Valet may be worth it, but preferred isn't always. It's often just as far as the regular parking.

The only difference between Preferred parking and "Regular" parking is that Preferred will be on the same level of the parking garage as the bridge to citywalk. With the Escalators and Moving walkways, the walk really isn't any shorter/longer. there MIGHT be an advantage if you have a stroller since you don't have to worry about the escalator, but they have elevators as well so it's not a big enough advantage to really warrant the price premium.

Valet isn't much better. We did it once and you could walk to your car faster than it takes to use Valet. The Valet takes you to the conveyer belt right before you go over the mini golf area. So it does cut off most of the parking garage, but then you still have all of city walk.

Well.... One huge advantage of Valet over Regular parking is that you can avoid the primary bag-check bottleneck getting into the park since they have their own bag-check. ;)

That... and I guess you know exactly WHERE you will be let out at the end of the day when you leave. You never quite know which garage and/or exit you'll be sent out of when you first turn into the universal regular parking. :rotfl:
