Parking Lot Opening Time? (AK)

Was listening to a podcast where folks would call in and ask questions about WDW. One of the callers stated the parking lot at Animal Kingdom doesn't open until 8:45 AM. She did not mis-speak as her question was based on this.

Can anyone confirm this? I remember in 2006 getting there at 8:30 am and the parking lot was open and it seemed it had been open before 8:30 am based on the number of cars already parked.

actually, DAK has historically opened its lot only an hour prior to park opening. to my knowledge, this has not changed but it has been very consistent in this respect.

other parks open earlier.

When we were there in February, AK was scheduled to open at 9 am.

We had a breakfast reservation at Tusker House at 8 am.

They didn't allow any cars to go through until 7:45.

The DAK lot usually opens later than any other theme park auto lot.

60 minutes before regular opening time is probably close.

So, we'll say it opens at "about 8am" every day.

(Which means on AM EMH days and for early ADRs it can be a real pain to drive to DAK.)

as with all things, it is easier to use your personal trans-dimensional teleportation unit, with coordinates set for near Animal Kingdom, Florida, Earth. Thus negating the need for parking.
