Parking, is it free?

Can I park at other resorts for free, or will I have to pay to park?

you don't ever pay to park at any of the WDW resorts for self parking. Now valet parking does charge.

If you are not staying at a resort, they will give you a parking pass for a few hours (three, I think) if you want to eat/shop/look around. Not sure if they do that at the values and moderates, but they do it at the deluxes to prevent people from parking at the resort then walking/taking the monorail to the parks.

If you want to stop at the Swan or Dolphin they do have a daily parking fee of I think $7.00.

You room key will only work at the resort you are staying at. The driver usually just needs to show picture id in order to enter the parking area of the other resorts and then you can either valet, if avaiable, or self park. There is no charge for self parking at any of the Disney owned resorts and valet is $10 for the day.

If you stay in a WDW hotel, you don't have to pay parking at the theme parks. Theme park parking is also free if you have an AP, no matter where you stay.

Everyone self-parks for free at the hotels. You can visit a hotel even if you aren't staying there. Most of the time they'll ask to see an ID, but they just kind of glance at it and send you on your way, so I have no idea WHY they do that. Some hotels will write you out a pass for 3 hours to park and visit.

If you valet park (I think they charge around $10/night) at one, you get valet at all them for no extra fee. Not all the valet people know this, but if the guy you get doesn't, someone else there will.
