Hi all! I know there was a thread similar to this a month or so ago, but my quandary is a bit different. We are going this weekend and driving from upstate NY. We are staying at the Loews Madison (1177 Fifteenth ST NW) and the hotel charges $50 to valet park the car. I have tried looking at other parking options (it would cost us $250 just to park). I know there are parking garages nearby, but do they allow for staying multiple days? We plan on driving once...I'd love to go to find a good restaurant for Maryland crab. (thinking with a mallet for the full effect). The other thread mentioned the Reagan parking garage, but that is about a mile away.

So are their parking garages that let you park for a few days in the city?

TIA

Have you looked on best parking.com? That's where I find parking garages, though I usually just park at union station, not sure where that is in relation to your destination.

My suggestion: Google for Reagan Airport parking; go with one of the places that advertise cheaper rates than the airport (probably a hotel in Crystal City). Take a cab or Metro from the garage to your hotel. You could also try looking at parkingpanda.com for multi-day rates.

I also suggest doing the Maryland stop on your way home, or on your last day so that afterward you'll only need to park the car for one night.

Places to eat crabs in DC is going to be few and far between. If you really want crabs, I might suggest stopping in Annapolis. And be ready for sticker shock.

We used Parkingpanda.com on a recent trip to the Spy Museum and it was great and so easy to use. There are lots of discount codes so we got $5 off for the day.

Because you want to leave the car overnight(s), that's what I would do. That or check out parking at Union Station (Amtrak), but I think the airport will be cheaper.

We stayed there last Sept and parked in the garage on the same block for most of the nights. Just ck the days they are open to retrieve the car...I think we picked it up fri or sat and then just parked on the street for the last day. It was much less, about half the cost of parking at Lowes.

We liked the location. Kids like stopping for shakes from Potbellies a lot. The metro was close, also liked Lou's deli for breakfast down a block or so , toward the metro.

We can't wait to go back. It was a great trip.
