Parking in a resort your not staying at

We are thinking about booking a trip and staying in port orleans. Is it possible to park in a different resort area. We would like to eat at some restraunts in different resort areas. Thanks!

If you are eating there then yes it is ok. Places like the Contemporary will give you a temporary pass for only 3 hours.

We just returned last week from a trip to POR and used our car to go to the Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom, and the Boardwalk. The hotel issues you a parking permit to display in the dash of your car. The guards always waved us through with no questions asked. Those without the permit were stopped.

I found this confusing as well--I asked at the Disney desk at ASMu and was told that the parking permit allows you to park anywhere--parks or resorts; however, whenever I went to Contemporary or Poly, there are signs posted everywhere that only the people who are staying there can park there.

Ultimately I ended up just eating everywhere I wanted to park...burp.

The Contemporary, Boardwalk, Polynesian, etc. all have signs where you enter the parking lot that they cannot provide parking for the theme parks. But you usually can park there to eat. The ones close to the MK will give you up to a 3 hour pass. When it expires, they can tow you. Even if you are staying at another Disney resort.

We've never had a problem parking at another resort. We always say we're eating. But, is it just my imagination or is it less of a problem parking at say, GF, with a AKL pass on your dashboards versus AS or PC? Maybe it's just my imagination.
