Parking for Ohana and Magic Kingdom

I am planning a trip for my family February 2015 and in the past we have had dinner at Ohana on our arrival night. This time I would like to go to the Magic Kingdom after dinner for the fireworks. I understand that you are not allowed to park in the parking lot of the Polynesian and then go to the Magic Kingdom. What about if I pay for valet parking? Would that be acceptable?

Actually, that's now a maybe with the construction at the Poly. The secondary lot by Rapa Nui has been closed and that is putting additional stress on the main parking lots. There are some times when even valet is restricted. It's fairły rare but the OP should be prepared for that,

With the construction and some of the lots closed, I'd park at the TTC and walk to Ohana. The walk there is pretty with the tiki torches and music playing and the flowers.

The OP is going next February - things could be very different then with regards to the construction.

Thanks for the advice! I will keep an eye on the construction as my trip gets closer. My first plan was to park at Magic Kingdom and ride the monorail to the Poly. I just thought that valet parking would be quicker in case we were running late on arrival day.

Several good points already mentioned but if you are staying on property, you cold save the valet cost by parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center and walking over to the Polynesian. As mentioned, it's a lovely walk and my husband and I do it when we park at Epcot since that's where we end our day but want to visit Magic Kingdom and the monorail and ferry boat queues are jammed.

At the end of the night at Magic Kingdom, you would have either the ferry boat, the monorail, or the Polynesian boat to get back to your car.

Best thing - it's something you might not ever get to do again so enjoy the adventure.

We also have a ADR at O'Hana so plan is a late start at MK then finished off the day at O'Hana or spend the day elsewhere and drive to O'Hana for dinner.

I had a live chat with somebody at the Disney site and he assured me I can park all day at Poly without restrictions since I am staying at a Disney resort and entitled to free parking? Should I trust this info?

No, I wouldn't trust it.

You're entitled to free parking at the parks when you stay on property. You're not supposed to park at the resorts for theme park access because it's not fair to the people who are paying to stay at that resort. The TTC is the parking lot for MK and has been mentioned, is an easy walk to the Poly, so that's really the best place to park for both 'Ohana and the MK.

I totally get it about the resort parking for people staying at the resort itself. I totally will be bummed out myself if I have to park somewhere because the CBR parking is packed with non-resort staying people. I was doing the live chat on a different issue and I just threw that parking question to see what he knows about parking rules.

Then reading through the Mom's panel at the Disney site, it says if you are having dinner at O'Hanna, you can definitely park there - but just for dinner. Maybe a three-hour limit as somebody in this board mentioned.
