can anyone please give me some idea of parking and or prices for Gatwick, we are going for 3 weeks in October. Can't make up mind whether to get Taxi there and back or leave car any suggestions would be greatly received, lynne:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Sorry don't know the prices. Aside from staying at a hotel with parking, have you considered hiring a car ? As you're local to Gatwick they may work out a deal for you. Short trip either way, 2 hours each time. Might be worth investigating.

Personally, I think a taxi would probably be a good idea as you can probably do the round trip for less than £100 from Basingstoke, and it is likely to cost you more to park for three weeks.

thank you guys, maybe best book a taxi, I wouldn't have a problem but Hubby reckons they might not be there to pick us up at 6.30am on the Friday we come back, but I surpose thats a chance you take, providing I confirm before hand maybe in writing that they will be there to pick us up should be ok. I will ring around taxi companys & see. many thanks and happy holidays, I expect I will have many more Questions to ask befor we go October, seems such a long way off, but I know will soon zoom by. regards lynne:bounce: :Pinkbounc ;)

We have booked a hotel as well at the airport for the night before. It is costing us £109 for the hotel and parking. La Meridien. I booked this through www.abcholidays.co.uk

I know that the hotel Rennaisance is good. We stayed here before and it cost £115 for the hotel and parking. I booked that direct with the hotel 01293 826918.

Are you going with Virgin? As you can check in the night before and then leisurely go through departures the next day. Less stress, if you book a hotel the night before.

Or if you want to just get parking, you can go through www.baa.co.uk and then go on the Gatwick parking section. They have NCP Flightpath parking and I was quoted £52 for 9 days parking. This is cheaper than just turning up. I think it was about £65 or more.

If you get a taxi make sure they know you could be bringing back a lot more than what you took.

We stay in the Hilton the night before which includes 14 nights parking. We paid £122 for last year and this year it £108.
